Prodigy vs Voyager

I read that many of you have opted for the Podigy by Tekonsha. I have the Voyager by the same manufacturer. Has anyone made the migration from Voyager to Prodigy? Do they hook up the same way, i.e., use the same four wires? Is the change worth the $150 plus or minus?

I also have the Voyager and will be following this thread closely.
The Voyager seems to need a lot of adjusting and I can never be sure it is working properly.

I've had both units. The Voyager was in a Dakota and was dealer installed. The Prodigy is in a Dodge 3500 self installed, therefore I can't say if they wire up exactly the same. I can tell you that the Prodigy is L-I-G-H-T years ahead of the Voyager. Like Glenn, I was constantly tweeking on the Voyager - don't think I really ever got it right. I've had the Prodigy over 2 years and have not touched the adjustments since initial install. It is like the guy selling the broiling ovens on TV says - "set it and forget it".

I had the Voyager, the Envoy, and the Sentinel before going to the Prodigy. They all hooked up the same way on mine. The Prodigy is absolutely worth the money and even tossing out or giving away the old one (or selling it on ebay). Like the others said, once I got the Prodigy adjusted I never needed to touch it again. Well, when my dealer checked my brakes and said I had it set too aggressively, I backed it off a bit (from 7.8 to 7.0) and still had plenty of stopping power.

Wish I still had the Prodigy to give you or sell to you but I let it go with the traded truck. The new one has the builtin brake controller built by Tekonsha/Ford. I understand it's the guts of the Prodigy but tied into the Ford's computer and brake systems so I'm hoping to be thrilled with it when I finally get to use it.

I have the Prodigy and love it. Set it and forget it. Works like a dream.

Well I guess I am odd man out on this one, I have the Voyager and love it. I have only had to adjust the settings on mine once from towing unloaded home from the day I bought it, till late fall when I finally had it loaded and had to increase the power just a bit to help with all the extra "stuff" I had added this summer. I really like the voyager and do not see a need "yet" to get the prodigy. Like Glenn said, I will be watching to see the final out come of this topic.
