Jimmy - I bought the GMC 3500 dually last month, only Onyx black with Cashmere. Dropped a new Curt Q5 hitch into it and towed for the first time this past weekend. What a difference from my old TV!! Smooth, quiet, no bucking or chucking. You will absolutely love towing with this truck! I don't fear overpasses and concrete highways anymore. Also got 10.5 mpg the first time out, holding 65-70 mph. More than I thought I would get. Enjoy!!!

We have a 2011 Chevy 3500HD Duramax/Allison SRW with a Trailer Saver 3 (Hensley Mfg.) Hitch. WE LOVE IT! This truck is meant to tow a 5'r.

Enjoy your new TV. It's quite a ride.

Congrats, I agree with everyone else. Pulled our Monty here to Florida in early Feb (timed it in between the storms) and it was a breeze. Pulls much better than our previous 2005 3500 DRW. You will love the Exhaust Brake and the Cruise Braking feature. Put it in Drive and enjoy the view.

Jimmy,

You'll love that truck! !
I sold a 2010 F-350 dually I had for 12 months and bought a 2011 3500 GMC dually with the Duramax/Allison combo. IMO a big improvement in power and ride quality. To be fair you need to compare the 2011 GMC or Chevy to the 2011 Ford since both have upped the power ante.
I test-drove Dodge/Ford/GMC in that order and picked between the last two.
Jerry

On edit, I forgot, my dealer called and offered (for free) to replace the air in all seven tires with nitrogen and put green plugs/caps in.
There's some argument out there about the cost-benefit of all of this, the service guy said it helped with the effectiveness of the tire-pressure monitoring system that the truck has. I'm not sure how all this works but he insisted that the gas was less temp sensitive than air and showed a "tremendous" (his words) improvement in resisting gradual leakdown. Just food for thought.

Here is a photo of our new 2011 duramax, 3500HD, crew cab, short box, single rear wheels.
Bought it back in August, 2010.
We are currently down in Indio, CA and towed our 2955RL Monty down here. What a awesome tow machine, you will love the exhaust brake for coming down the mountains. Look Ma, no brakes!!!! We ALWAYS tow at just 55 mph, but if we wanted to we could probably pass everything on the road. Enjoy your lovely truck, we sure love ours.
