Maxxis 8008 ST

Anyone running the ST235/80R16E? What do you think?

I just replaced a set of Maxxis 8008ST's in size ST235-70R15 D on my 2004 Mountaineer TT. I never had a problem with them - just pulled them because they hit the 7 year mark in age - always kept them covered and parked on wood and treated / balanced / properly inflated. Upon close inspection of the dismounted carcases - they showed no sign of degrading or seperation in the groves or on the sidewalls.

I had no Maxxis dealer close by - or I would have bought another set.

Just my experience.

I've read that if you are gonna get STs of that size, Maxxis is the one to get. Maybe that's why they tend to be the higher price of the size and rating, too. Sounds like Ed's experience is about what to expect.

I just changed to Maxxis on my 3500RL. I had 2 sets on an sob and had no problems. I have ST 235/80R/16 load range E. Ordered them online cheaper than I could get them from my local dealer. We've been to Canada and now sitting in PA. have about 5000 mi on them. No problems running TPMS for insurance.

Yep, I put a set on a little over a year ago. It was a major step up from those Missions And the upgraded valves were an improvement and I don't lose any air. I decided to get them at Discount Tire because they have shops nationwide in the event of any issues. I haven't had them long enough to provide you with years of use feedback, but I feel more secured with these behind me than those missions for sure. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do!

My interest really peaked until I went to their web site and found out they are made by Kenda. Have not had any luck with any Kenda product in the past, but the comments are only based on my previous experience.

I had the 15" on my last unit and had no problems in about 20,000 miles. The dealer I just bought my present Montane from swapped a set of the 2008 ST's for the Missions for me at no charge. I have never heard anything negative about them.

The Maxxix M8008 is the ONLY ST rated tire I will sell. When I run out of a certain size, I just have an empty slot until I can get some more in. I have tried several other brands but none seem to hold up as well as the Maxxis does.
