Financial Assistance for RV's

I received the following off of the Passport America newsblast:

The stimulus bill allows consumers to deduct the sales tax they pay on RVs, up to $49,500. That translates to about $1,400 - $3,000 in savings depending on the consumer.

It's not just the federal stimulus package that's great news for RV dealers. Manufacturers are also offering major incentives and that can mean tens of thousands of dollars in savings for consumers. McMann says, "One particular unit over the last 2, 3, 4 years we would see in the $110,000-$120,000 range as I was telling you earlier with the incentives in the market place, the tax breaks, the advantages that the manufacturers are giving us you're going to buy it in the mid to high 80s."

The stimulus bill includes about $100,000,000 for tax breaks for RV and motorcycle purchases. Money McMann says will eventually run out, meaning now is the time for consumers to cash in. "It's a perfect package for us as a dealer to get excited, to get our consumer excited and to quite frankly keep our employers employed."

Anybody else heard of this?? Might be a good time to "jump ship" if you've a mind to!!!

(This is not a political post but rather information about the RV world)

That's a good heads-up since we are going to pick-up our 2980RL next week. I printed out your post to remember to ask our dealer for additional info. Thanks

Doesn't this apply only to those that itemize their deductions?

Saw similar in a RV newsletter, but it was reported per motorhome purchases only.
