Thanks, folks! We were at CW this morning to pick up some goodies and almost picked up a baddie - would have been another item for the old garage sale!

Since we got our 07 3400 in Aug, I would think our owner's manual is current, however, on page 17 it says, "In extended use situations, it is advisable to add support blocks under the slide room. Do not raise the room. Just touch the bottom." Another example of the fine and helpful owner's manual we have! Go figure.

pparamore,
This thread currently has 23 replies, some of which are from the same posters.
Of those 23, there are 9 (make that now 10) who rather strongly state, NO supports under the slides. Many of those that responded use their units full time or heavy duty part time/long time.
Now, ole Carol's memory ain't what it used to be, but it seems to me, that in the past here at MOC when this subject came up, our very own MIMF (who at that time worked for Lippert), stated in no uncertain terms, DO NOT USE SUPPORTS!
We all have to do what we have to do, and go with what our gut tells us, but having walked around a number of very large campgrounds full of long timers, we see almost NO supports under the slides.
JMHO, don't bother, save your $$ and save the weight and storage issue and don't go there. Remember, if you have a tire go flat you are most likely looking at some nasty results.
Good luck in your decision,

Can't say I've ever even seen a slide support in use.

As I've previously said, I have seen them and I have seen the damage done by them. DON'T USE THEM!
Enuff said.

Bert, someone posted awhile back that when Keystone was alerted to that statement in the owners manual they pulled it out of the newer manuals. I've not checked ours to see if it has it or not. All I know is when I asked Keystone they said do not use them. Other than that I guess it is a judgment call. I won't use them on ours. Too much potential for damage and that would not be covered by warranty. If there's a problem from NOT using them, then I would think warranty would cover that.

Thanks, Steve.
I have no intention of using them...just reporting what the owner's manual says. We all know how accurate, full of information and current it is!!

My manual is probably the same as yours. Our 3400 came off the line Aug 18th.
