First snow (Read at your own risk)

Michigan Tech in Houghton, MI is my Alma Mater. I have 6 1/2 yrs logged at this locale. Beautiful country, but it is predisposed to this type of weather. You better like snow to read this weather warning just posted this morning...

Winter Storm Warning

Statement as of 4:34 AM EDT on October 11, 2006

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon
to 8 am EDT Friday.

Rain developing this morning will mix with and change to heavy snow
late this afternoon into the evening with 1 to 2 inches of accumulation.
Snow will fall heavy at times into Thursday night with storm total
accumulations near 24 inches expected over much of the Keweenaw peninsula
by Friday morning. Occasional blizzard conditions are possible tonight
into Thursday night as west winds increase to 25 to 35 mph with gusts
near 50 mph. The strong winds may also down trees and produce power
outages.

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds are also anticipated. This
will make travel very hazardous or impossible.

Where's my long underwear???

Dave, you have to admit this type of forecast is so much easier to take when you are retired and you don't have to drive in those crazy conditions. All you have to do is turn up the heat in your beautiful new 3400, go put on your favorite thong and cuddle up with Cheryl.

Holy buckets! 2 feet already! Better set the snow shovel inside by the door Dave so you can dig out. Better yet, park the snowblower in the living room pointed towards the door!

We must be catching the edge of it here, they just announced hard freeze Thursday night .

I noticed it was little cool this morning when I went out to get the paper at 0530, I told Mama to bring the windbreakers this weekend for our trip to Sebastian Inlet. We will probably get to use the fireplace in the camper. 68 degrees, brrrrrr!

Well just yesterday it was all the way down to 51°F and I thought I was gonna freeze. Had thought about a jacket but it was up to 70° by 11. Don't know what we're gonna do when winter really sets in. It may go all the way down to 40° BBBBBRRRRrrrrrrrrrr.

I knew there was a reason we left Northern Illinois when we did. Southwestern Florida never looked so good!!

I think that 79 for a high on Sat is that "cold front" coming through for you, Glenn. Here in W. North Carolina we are supposed to hit 30 on Fri night (no precip) as it swings through here... Short lived - back to 72 here by next Tue.

Gotta jump in here also...it's 6AM and it snowed overnite (just a shy inch) and now 24 degrees here in Southern MN. Last Saturday it was 85!

The ONLY good thing about it is, no more mowing for awhile LOL!

No I didn't, Brad. It is stuck in the "open" position. I went out when I first got our Montana and bought the extra valve to put at the end of my sewer line, as most did. I used it for equalizing the galley and grey tanks.

When I dumped, I made sure my grey and galley were full. I closed my galley tank and opened my black. With the grey being full, there is no back fill (I hope). the black and grey both go out at the same time. Then I back flush the black tank.

After a REAL good back flush, I close the black tank (I am using chemicals in it while we are using it this way). Then I open and empty the galley tank. Then I unhook and head back to the parking lot where we are camping.

Nearest Keystone dealership is 47 miles away and they are small. Service only works on Mondays and Fridays. I will try to get in this next week.
