When I saw your pic of the truck in the shop, I thought that you had injector issues. I'm surprised that they had to take the cab off for a turbo. I didn't think that was that buried in there.

I had my injectors done on my '02 a couple summers ago. When I was in there talking to them, they said that on most of the newer trucks, they always take the cab off to work on the injectors, Chevy and Ford both. Much easier than figthing everything...

That happened to a friends Ram and they replaced it in warranty for 10,000 he told me. That made me spontaneously sweat. I looked up the part new and rebuilt, then the rebuild kit price. It's not much if you have the time and place but on the road I think I would take a rebuilt for $2,500 or so then rebuild and sell the original turbo at a later date.
