Montana cost
Had a look at the new Montanas at an RV dealership in Palm Desert, couldn't find one under $100,000. Look at some Grand Design 5th wheels at a different dealership priced about $30,000 less, the difference between the two brands didn't seem to justify the cost difference.

Never heard of anyone paying that for a Montana. Usually there is a lot of room for negotiation.

I agree, but these were the starting prices at both dealerships the Montana's ran from $105,000 up while the Grand Design's were in the $70,000.

We were recently at a small RV show in SW Florida and they probably had 5 or 6 Montana models displayed for all under $50,000. Not sure what models they were.

Did the dealer post a Keystone MRSP Sheet, or did he post his own sales number. Suspect he did his own markups.

Google whatever floor plan you are interested in. You will most likely find multiple dealers advertising that same floor plan any where from the listed MSRP of mid $80k to mid $90k range to their dealership price of $70K or less. Sometimes quite a bit less. And sometimes they say call for their lower than that price. That is US dollars. You can use that as a bargaining tool if you want to shop at a particular dealer.
Example of a 2017 3721RL Legacy. $67,950 and they claim their actual price is less than that.
The price we have listed at $67,950.00 is Keystones "MAP" pricing. Our prices are thousands less!!

I went on the internet for pricing and then took those numbers and went shopping internet deals are much better. We ended up at CW Las Vegas and got the deal we wanted. So it pays to go shopping with all this information. I would not even start dealing at 100,000 easy to walk away and find a better deal.

Try Pete's RV. Best pricing by far. They can arrange to deliver it to you. Saved tens of thousands of dollars. They are very willing to negotiate. I suspect if we buy another Mony...it will be from Pete's RV again.

Thank you all for your feedback, we are still in the just looking stage. I was just surprized that a dealer in Palm Springs California would price Montanas that much higher than another dealer that was carrying Grand Designs. I think that the Montana is a better equiped 5th wheel, but not $30,000 more.

X2 on Pete's RV. We bought out TT from them and then got seduced by the CW hype where we bought our current fifth wheel. Next go around, I will be back with Pete's. Was better PDI, personal attention and just all around nice folks compared to the treat custome4s like cattle at CW.
Back on topic of price, the MSRPs are pretty useless. You can easily get to 40% off.

Without digging up the paperwork, I'm thinking the retail price of our Monty with full body paint, which is supposedly a 10k add on, was total around 125k, but we picked it up for 89.5k and they thru in the MaxxGard 5 year paint and upholstery protection, and two marine batteries, and training, and full propane tanks etc. So don't go by the retail pricing, and always have 2-3 dealers in your area quoting against each other.

I have 2 friends with Grand design Solitudes and I can tell ya they paid the about the same price as me for my 2015 Legacy And the GD does not match the Monty in standard features and quality equipment they are nice looking with Pretty Blue neon light inside or I would have bought one,I could go on for awile and tell ya what a GD Solitude cheaps out on compared to a Montana Legacy, Are you sure you were not looking at a GD Reflection for 30K less? which IS a good value for a Mid level 5er compared to our High Country Montana

Unless something has changed in pricing, Montana's have over 40% mark-up. We bought our '14 3150RL, which has most every option, plus W/D and Mor/ryde X bracing out the door for back of 50K.
