Heat pump wont shut off.

When it's cold outside and I switch to furnace the furnace kicks on but the heat pump continues to blow cold air. The only way I can stop it is to flip the breaker off. Any ideas?

Not sure what system you have, mine is a Dometic. When you push the button the first time the thermostat comes on. Push it again and you have the option to select 1) Fan low, 2) Fan high, and 3) auto. If your setting is on Fan High or Fan Low, it will run constantly, regardless if the heat pump or the air conditioner is running.

Yours may be set up different, but find the setting for Fan low, Fan high, and Auto. Change it to Auto.

I have the same set up. It's to warm tonight for the heat pump to kick on but I set it on auto fan to see what happens in the morning. Thanks
