It continues
I know many are happy about their purchase. However, i really dont want this Montana any longer. On this trip i have replaced the right front tire again. Also had the axles lined up. Out of the three holding tanks the black water came out from the under belly. Took 4 hours to get the corrugated junk off. The factory uses nails to attach to the frame. Once off wires came down on the ground., meaning they used about 10 feet too much wire. They use aluminum foil for insulation. Could not locate the breach. It's up high above the tank somewhere. Any driving home. Now the Big slide got cockeyed, Again! .. im done. Anyone want a montana ?

What model and year is yours? If you like fifth wheel trailers and have a suitable towing truck consider trading it in for a new one?

You got the truck............since I recently purchased a dually my wife convinced me to purchase a larger 2020 Montana vs. purchase a motorhome. We have towed from San Francisco to Palm Desert, down the California coast and up to the Sierra Nevada mountains without any trailer warranty issues and best yet NO operator errors like we had on our first fifth wheel trailer 16 years ago (operator errors only).

Maybe the extra tank crossmember I found up under my 3610 is yours! No kidding, it was just rattling around up there. If you stick it out and get the bugs worked out, you'll love the rig.

We bought this New in 15. Its a legacy. Some of the things. Rear shackle bolt came off. Slide gears stripped, and now they stripped again. Black water leak, right front tire wear, had aligned, now right rear tire worn in 700 miles.fan Blades came down, ceiling molding came down, i fixed these. Shower door handle came off, dealer used glue to fix, came off again. Water heater did not work on electric. Outer roof to side moulding came down in first year. I spend more time trying to repair than use it. Maybe i can break even selling the ram with it..

Unless considering $500,000 or more expect problems on a moho too. Actually expect problems with a Prevost too st nearly $2 million

CaptnJohn..............if that i$2 MM is your experience with a motorhome you convinced me to stay with my fifth wheels, which have had minimal expenses since 2004 and those have been due to re-attaching molding and the rest fixing operator errors (my fault).

A decent DP will be over $350,000. A Prevost starts at $1.3 plus options. $2-4 million is not unheard of.

Does your 5er have the Correct Track system? Had a similar problem with our 2015 3611rl. Wore the RR tire in a matter of about 2K miles. Took to local RV dealer (not where we purchased as that dealer is now a CW) and were told that axle hangers were aligned. After some research and measuring, I found the distance between the wheel hubs on the right was 1" more than on the left. So, hangers were aligned but the axles and wheels weren't going down the road parallel. A little further YouTube research showed me how to equalize the hub center distances. After equalizing the hub distances the tires appear to be wearing evenly.

Saw recently someone bought a pricey, used Prevost and still had to put $20k into it to make it right. I understand your disappointment, but unless you already have a replacement planned, you may be able to make it right with minimal dollars.

That's funny. I have a crossmember floating around on top of my galley tank. No way to get it out of there without doing surgery.

Thanks for the clues... I just took it to an alignment shop.... Hopefully this will take care of the wear issues.. I had the Trailer King E rated tires and the only tires available at the time were Trailer King , however moved to the load range Gs....

Moving on past the beating on the drums and tambourines for the Montana brand by the true blue owners on the MOC. All manufacturers make a bowl of lemonade from time to time on the assembly line ... it surely appears "dfb" has landed one. Whether he will risk faults in another unit or brand by starting all over seems irrelevant here. This one creates anxiety ever time he hooks up ... even GolfMedic came to a point where he threw in the towel on his ill fated Montana. Even if I'd loose a little $$$, I'd start looking for a replacement no matter what flavor of fiver. It's no fun just waiting for the next tragedy to strike when it seems surely to do so.
