Come on folks! We need someone to take the coordinators position for the pancake breakfast! It's a tradition and it's been there since I've been coming and that's about half of total Fall Rallies. It is really easy to do! Just post for help, and you get plenty; post for griddles and other mixing items; and then post for the rest of the attendees to bring in their sides and list ing them for the breakfast and stand back and be the supervisor and the workers take it from there! It's a snap, I ran it two years ago by myself since Mary had to leave for a class reunion that weekend. The only running you do is go to Aldis or Wally World and buy the pancake mix, and a couple of other things and you're set. You get reimbursed for the supplies too! It went off with no problems! If Dick sets things up right with the fair ground staff for the electrical circuits in the main tent it will go over with out a hitch!

We did it a couple of times including last year. We just can't do it this year.It is truly the easiest event to coordinate. Take a look at last years rally post on the pancake bkfst and you will see how simple it is.

Ditto to that Ron & Rich! This is a VOLUNTEER-based rally & organization - everyone needs to step up. Even if it is just contributing a dish or something (ANYTHING) for the social events, at least you will have done your part...

When we get close to the Rally we'll look into something like that. Some other things have to fall into place first and then we'll know what we have to work with.

We already have coffee provided at every event, in the tents for most of the day and part of the evenings. Believe that is paid for by the MOC, and partially, I am guessing by our Rally fee.
The volunteer part is stressed because our Rally fee is pretty small and there are other expenses, those tents don't come cheap, and we do LOVE our porta potties.
I say if no one wants to volunteer to chair this that we have coffee and just sit and chat and enjoy each other. Bring your own cereal, or yogurt.
We run on the backs of volunteers. We LOVE our volunteers. But, lets face it gang, some of these volunteers have been volunteering for 5 to 8 years. We dearly love giving, but, honestly, a little fresh volunteer blood, err, help, would be nice and fresh out-looks are always good for us, they come with new ideas and shake us up. Shaking us up is a VERY good thing!
And, of course, if my facts are in error, someone will come along and correct me, for which I am always thankful.

Your facts are not in error Carol. We have been to every rally since 2006 and have volunteered in one way or another at every one including assistant wagon master, pancake bkfst I think three times. Helen has volunteered for the ladies activities and I think ladies driving school since the first one. You are correct many MOC members have volunteered for many events many times.
New folks and new ideas and new ways to run a event bring new life into the rally. You will get plenty of help from from those who have volunteered in the past even if they can not make the rsally.
