High run tires
Have you heard of High Run tires? If so what do you know about them?

Looks like another Chinese tire. I found several bad reviews but they were 3-4 years old.

Made in China, everything I read about them was negative, I would certainly stay away from them.

Thats what I was thinking, Firestone offered them with warrenty, but when I saw that Sam Club, Ebay, Amazon, Pep Boys and WalMart sold them it sounded mare like low or NO quality tires. WalMart even has them already mounted on steel wheels. Thanks for your input. My Missions have 17,000 trouble free miles and six years on them. Time for new ones...past time I am sure you would say

Mission had such a hard time with their tires they are now out of business. You're right to seek an alternate even after only 17,000 miles. I will say that's actually pretty good. Mine didn't get close to that distance without the first mishap, and that prompted immediate replacement to you guessed it, Goodyear Marathons.
THEN I joined the MOC and learned of my mistaken choice, but I had just purchased them and couldn't afford to replace the tires so I watch them like a new mother tending a newborn. It's now been almost 6 years and I'm getting ready to swap these out for something better. Fortunately I've learned to treat all tires with the same diligence and I don' expect that to change.

As others have stated, stay away from them. They are a very low end tire and extremely poor quality.

When I bought my 5'er it had 4 HiRun tires on it. I checked the DOT numbers before buying it and found none of them over 2 years old so I kinda felt okay about them. My first trip over 100 miles I had a catastrophic blow out causing minimal damage. On my next trip I had another catastrophic blow out on two more tires causing damage to my Montana. All the HiRuns had MAJOR belt separation. Even the one that didn't have a chance to blow out had signs of separation. I replaced the blown tires with Carlisle's and replaced the remaining HiRun as well. When I had the first blow out I totally freaked out seeing that my spare was a Marathon. Insurance company paid to have rig fixed good as new. When I asked about the tires at Discount Tire, the rep said they had not received any negative comments or had any recalls on the tires. My suggestion is, if you have them, replace them ASAP, if you don't have them, don't buy them. I still have the Marathon as a spare.
