Not 1 bit. Make sure you use nylon thread. I asked Preston the owner and he said it should have no effect. A couple cross country trips and no issues.

Thanks, I'm corresponding with Preston now via E-mail. I've let him know about the good reviews on here. I also mentioned him getting a booth in quartzite, AZ.

It is follow the directions, get over screwing into the cap, make sure you seal everything. Before I drilled anything I taped everything to get it all correct, made adjustments marked and drilled.

Got our Bugg Banner installed today. Took some time to get it adjusted right, before permanently mounting the hardware. In addition, I also installed the factory GM/Chevy rear trailer camera. I mounted it center, up at the roof line.

Looks good. How was running the line for the camera. Thought about adding one.

I also installed mine. I emailed Preston with a couple of questions, he was very helpful; even called me to see how it was going.

The hardest part is drilling the first hole; after that, no turning back.

They were a little concerned that I mounted the cam locks higher; I think worried about the rope below the lock rubbing. For those that still have to install, I was told the cam locks are supposed to go on the bottom edge, attached to the camper - not the cap. The instructions are not clear on that part. Anyway, I think mine are ok; the ropes are pretty tight and I used extra pipe insulation.

I ordered some more of the cushions that come with the kit; they look like they will last longer than the soft pipe insulation. I also asked why the banner could not be bigger (vertical); that is as big as they can make it without putting a seam in it.

Why can't it be made larger to cover moor of the cap?

A seam would make it weaker and might rub on the cap.

Well don't put a seam in it! Get a larger piece of material.

Tony, I just ran it underneath the RV and used 3/8" cable clamps, with 3/4" screws and spaced them out about every 10". Just mounted it to the belly pan. Towards the front, I veered it to the left and brought it up into the front storage compartment from the driver's side front stabilizer opening. I just notched the bottom inside lip of the battery access door to allow the cable to pass through to the bumper of the truck.

Looks good Scott, yeah Preston is an awesome guy. I have my first tow with mine tomorrow. We're headed up to Paso Robles.

For those of us with front windows, can you see through the bug banner, or... having a front window, will it have to be put up and taken down at every campsite and before hitting the road?

Washing the front window is not bad at all. I attach a hose with a sprayer to the blue hose inside the wet bay. I lower the tail gate of the truck, back up to the 5er, and set up a short ladder in the bed of the truck. I can easily reach the top of the window. A longer brush handle and I can easily reach the top of the trailer. That's how I do it.

You can barely see through it.

However, it is very easy to take down and pull up. Simple rope drops it, like having a curtain.

My main reason for this purchase was not to keep the window free from bugs, it was the concern of the glass chipping or breaking from small stones.
The tension across the banner will do this, big rocks, not so much.

It is nice getting to the campsite and taking the banner down and having a "bug-free" window as ours is the front kitchen model.

One thing I did have to do after the first use is to have seamstress reinforce the sides. The stitching started to fray on one side. No issues now.

That isn't bad for a short stay, but as stated, it comes off easy.

Gotta say I love the new Bugg Banner. First drive with it, was a four hour drive to Paso Robles (Wine Country). Came through like a champ.

I do not think we have ever had a stone get up there and chip the front cap. We get bugs but have not had one big enough to chip the paint.
