Powder Coated Steps Rusting

The black power coated step supports are rusting on our Montana. What is the best way to stop the rust? Can you spray paint the areas that are rusted after you use some steel wool to remove the rust? Any ideas? Thanks

I just wire brushed the rust. Used a wire wheel that fit my cordless drill. Painted with a foam brush using flat black Rust oleum. Not a fan of spraying around a white RV.

I'm a big fan of rustoleum myself. I sprayed my utility trailer last year with rustoleum and will be doing my low-boy trailer when it cools off. Agree it probably wouldn't be to safe to use spray can around rv. You have the options of flat, satin, semigloss or gloss all depending on the luster you want.

Several years ago, our steel steps broke, and I replaced them with similar steps, except they had the aluminum treads. We have since replaced them with the Torklift Glowstep Revolution steps, and these are a vast improvement, solid and much safer than the diving board steps that flex. They also have available a hand rail attachment that provides extra security when using the steps. https://www.torklift.com/rv/glowstep-revolution

What is a step support and how do you know it's powder coated?
