Looks like you are running a lift kit on your TV , aftermarket oversize wheel tire combination. Both are not conducive to lateral stability. To have an optimum TV you need to keep lateral stability as rigid as possible . Also it appears that you are nose high which creates more undesirable situations. That size 5very would be best pulled by a more stable DRW configuration. JMO.

^^^^^IMO this. Lifted trucks and towing large RVs aren't "meant for each other". Which then leads into pin weight; nose high etc. which are all contributors to the issue you have.

This is the second thread in a little over a week with this problem.
Things in common:
1. both were front living rooms
2. Both are 2" nose high
3. I suspect the other one maybe had a lift kit also.

In regards to the Fish Tail, just blew up the photo and those are extremely agressive tread patterns on those tires which might not be good for towing, but really great for Mudding and agree sure looks like it's lifted

It’s a 2018 F350 without suspension mods. We are running 35 R/T which is below kidders. We towed a 40’ Grand Design Solitude with same set up and zero issues. Tracked like an arrow.

This rig fish tails and is very sensitive over rough road, wind etc

If your grand design towed perfectly and the Montana does not. With zero changes in your tow vehicle then it is a weight and balance issue with your RV. We can not make suggestions other than try towing with a tank full forward of the axles of the Trailer. If your fresh water or other tanks are behind the axles of the Monty. Make sure they are empty. One tractor trailer and single end pickup. You never know how that trailer is loaded and should not make a difference how the trailer is loaded so long as the load is secure. There is something wrong with your set up for sure. Lots of trial and error, your analysis will solve the issue, with persistance.

That unit is most likely in dually territory. What is the model# ?
Going from a 3500 SRW to a 3500 dually is a night and difference.

Matt, congratulations on the new trailer. The Grand Design Solitude is a very nice trailer too. Like you, my trailer is sitting about two inches too high in the front, but I have zero fishtailing issues. This Thursday, I plan on raising the kingpin up to level her out. Hope you resolve your fishtailing issues too. From Robert

Robert, thank you for the insight. I tried to lower my hitch point from 6" to 4"; however in some situations the cap touched the bed. I feel better at 6" clearance (however it maybe over kill).

If I did lower it, it would be nearly level.

214Skier, do you know anyone else that could tow it and see if they experience the same issues? Maybe another forum member is local to you and help out?

Did you get the Sailuns on yet?

That's a great idea--at present all of our local friends are bumper pull folks--but I will keep my eye out for a good candidate with suitable 5er set up.

The Les Schwab dealer was out of Sailuns--but the convinced me to go with Geo-Star (14 ply / 110psi). while the rig remains more "sensitive" to the helm -- it is a big improvement in stability vs. Westlake (felt like soft balloons).

Adding the TST-507 today for closer pressure monitoring

Question--for those with 110 psi tires, what TP to run?

I keep mine in the 105 to 110 range.

I could not find your trailer model listed so don't know what the gvw is. I have always been a believer in running max psi on a trailer. On this one I did a bit of overkill by taking of the new Ranier LRF and putting on Sailun LRGs. At a 14,4xx gvw and max pressure it rode a little rough. Aired down 5 lbs to 105 and it's better. May even go to 100 but the jury is still out on that.

Just looking at the nearest trailer I could find on the Keystone website with the FL it looks like your gvw may be in the mid 15s? With the issues you were having I think I would start at 110 and see how she tracks.

Here she is: https://www.keystonerv.com/fifth-whe...l-fifth-wheel/

I believe GVW is: Shipping Weight
12985

Ahh, your signature says 367 and the link is to 376. That is a 16,460 trailer gvw. I would run the tires at 110. Some think you should deduct the pin weight from the gvw (or use actual scaled trailer weight with hitch on truck) to determine the weight carried and then air up to that. I don't agree. I like my tires to carry the entire weight of the trailer because it is literally impossible for every tire position or side to be evenly loaded. Airing to that assumption is going to leave a tire overloaded IMO. I'm sure others disagree but I prefer to err on the side of being cautious after having an expensive blowout.
