New Montana High Country owners
We're new to the Montana brand (got it in May) but not to fifth wheel campers. (This is our third) We love the layout of our new 2015 343rl. My husband is retired USAF, he's originally from Rome, NY, I'm a St. Petersburg, Florida native. We live in St. Petersburg.
So far we haven't even been out of the state with our new Montana,
it's too dang hot! The AC system in this unit doesn't seem to be able to handle the Florida heat, any one else notice a wimpy AC?
We're looking forward to heading north for the fall, and west hopefully next spring. Also looking forward to hearing from other Montana folks!

Welcome to the forum. Do you have a 2nd ac? If not you may want to check on one.

We spend six months in St. Petersburg from nov thru April. Love the area. Re the heat, we have found our rigs with double ACs to be comfortable in 100 degree weather so long as you get the cooling going before the real heat of the day starts.

Hello Erin, and welcome, from central Arkansas. If y'all want info about Montanas, this is the place to be, plus we've made a lot of friends here. We too, were seasoned RVers when we joined this forum, but have picked up on some good information. We hope you enjoy your Montana as much as we have ours.

Welcome to a forum full of nice knowledgeable people. We also liked a Mountaineer but ended up buying the Montana 3160. It has two AC's which I wanted and think is necessary for hot weather. Dual pane glass also helps. Hope you enjoy your new unit.

Our two AC's have been sufficient so far. I wish our BR unit was ducted into the ductwork.
Some trouble with the fridge staying cool. One of the small inline fuse holders was loose. Hopefully tightening the fuse holder solved the problem.
7/02 is the HC's Birthday. Love it.

This model has two ACs, one in the bedroom and the main one over the galley area. even with both cranked full blast it's over 80 inside.

We have two acs in this unit, even with them cranked on full blast it's still over 80 inside. If you haven't been here in the summer you don't really have any idea how hot it can get! Where do you stay when you're in St. Pete?

This unit has two ACs, and they are not doing the job.

We'll be up that way again in the fall, I love it up there, even though I'm a Florida girl! Our High Country has two ACs, but it's not really enough to cool the unit in this heat.
I don't know about the duct work you'd need but if you're going to be in the south in the summer you'll definitely need a second AC.

Happy Birthday to your HC! We're wishing also that the bedroom AC was ducted into the main ductwork. The new 2016s are!

Welcome from NC. Two ACsare a must in extreme weather. Yet my son had his main AC had to be replaced. Use an infrared thermomo to see if the cool air is 20 degrees cooler. That's all they do. Your dark colors like our Big Sky are harder to cool initially, but will get there. Good luck!

Yes, I can see this looks to be a great place for getting to know more about the Montana. We'd be interested in going to that 2015 MOC Fall Rally. We previously had a KZ fiver and visited the plant in Shipshawana IN, which is just down the road from Goshen. Very interesting.
