Ceiling Fan blade hit slide and broke

Today as I was retracting slide the ceiling fan blade caught the top of the trim and broke the blade in half. Has anyone had this happen to them? I know from past experiences with ceiling fans that the blades will tend to sag over time, and the clearance on these fans is very tight to start with. If anyone has had this happen to them, were you able to purchase replacement blades? Thanks for any help,

It seems the big box stores (Lowes, Home depot, Menards, etc.) have replacement blade kits that may work. Then there is always the Trekwood (expensive) option. Here are a couple of Threads from the past about broken fan blades.

I loaned my HC to a neighbor and they broke one of mine. The very same way.

When you buy replacements I believe you can get blades for exterior fans that are moisture and sag resistant.

Screws loosened on ours one time and I didn't notice ... caught the slide as you mentioned. I measured the fan blades and got a similar set at Lowe's. All I had to do was drill the matching holes from the blade brackets to the new blades. If the blades are very close to the slide facia .. you can ever so gently bend the blade brackets towards the ceiling a bit. They are pot metal.

Ceiling fan blades

We have to watch and make sure our blades are not hitting when we run our slides in on our 305 HC. They too will hit the slides if not stopped in right spot. Another design issue!

I just checked mine and wow you would really have to have a saggy blade! I've got a good 5" of clearance. Maybe a lower profile fan?

I had a spare set for about a year that I finally got rid of, I would have mailed it to ya! I've replaced mine because the motor burnt out, and the OEM replacement has done the same thing. Next one is going to be a different model.

Our ceiling fan also started drooping and finally broke a blade. Fortunately, the Annual Fall Montana Rally was the following month and Keystone Montana replaced the fan with a new one free of charge during the rally.

I took an afternoon and made new blades for our 330. I just made them 2 inches shorter so it will never happen...again

Yep had the same exact thing happened. While bringing the slide and I heard a snap and there it went. I replace the whole ceiling fan with the ceiling hugger model.
I installed some very small eye hooks in the ceiling with tiny bungee cords to pull the blinds up during travel.
As long as you remember to remove the bungee cords it's all good. Lol

Same happened to us last year. We were able to find replacements. I think I ordered from Amazon. The color wasn't exact to the originals. I believe the middle hole did not line up correctly so had to drill a new one. Also removed the arms from the fan and bent slightly up to increase clearance above the slide. Replacements and slight adjustment have worked well. A solid 1 inch clearance now on all blades.

I recommend using blue Loctite on the screws when reinstalling. Ours used to come loose before using Loctite.
