Question Ok to use a rebounder (AKA mini-trampoline) in the RV?

I'm thinking about buying a rebounder (AKA mini trampoline) for exercise that can be folded down and put away. Apparently on some of them the legs can be removed and the main circle part can actually fold down to almost nothing.

I use a folding exercise bike now but it is a pain when we move to put somewhere it won't hurt other things (and has already been damaged itself during a move.)

My husband is concerned that the floor may not be able to handle it (specifically the duct work under the floor.) Not that I'd put in directly over the duct work. No jokes about my weight, but I'm not a small person at 218 pounds. We're full time and so this would be a (hopefully) a daily use item.

Does anyone use one in their Montana? Has anyone used them and had problems with the Montana. Any leads on where I can find out if it's a really bad idea or not?

^^^^x2 - I heartily agree with the above. Repeated use on an RV floor will lead to problems IMO - it's not a concrete slab.

Olivia-- Why not give Keystone Customer Service a call and see what they have to say about using a rebounder in the unit for exercise? They should be able to tell you a positive or negative usage of it!

Not a good idea. That floor is OSB and is not a good surface for repeated small area bouncing.

As far as exercise - it's really kind of useless. My kids had one and it went to the dump after I got tired of moving it around for a year of little use. A brisk walk or two around the CG will work better, not take up storage space and costs nothing.

Go to Steel yard and buy a 4`square x 1/4" steel plate to support floor then reground stabilizer jacks, add additional jack stands under area of use, or just use the Weight Watcher's method..... worked for Marie Osmond.

Don't do it you could hit your head on the ceiling and break your neck! Try my wife's method. She walks 5-10 miles a day and is down to 125 from 200.

I wouldn't use it inside; even the mildest "running" on our wii fit was too much for our fifthwheel floor (stopped when DH pointed out just how much flexing was going on). Could you set it up in the campsite and exercise outdoors?

I would think walking would be better for you and your floor. What if you get off balance and fall on the floor, couch or chair or hit something else. Safety first.

We have one of those. My wife bought it many years ago, used it a couple of weeks and there it sat. It is constructed really well. It has 4 legs, each connected with a spring so they can be pulled out of their pipe mounting but still hangs on the pipe. There is a tall pipe railing to hold onto while using it which detaches for storage. This thing isn't lite - 30 lbs. The trampoline frame circle does fold in half but that makes it about 8-9 inches thick.

I've used it. I think my joints felt better after using it. But I would have to seriously question the weight reducing effect of using it. Other than flexing your muscles to stiffen your body every time you come down and maybe a little upward push with your toes, I think the trampoline does most of the work. A little increase in your heart rate, a little faster breathing and maybe improved balance.

This is the kind of optional equipment that should be in that compartment where the exterrior TV is. Open the door, it should fold out with 2 legs that sit on the ground (under the awning). The other side would be connected by a hinge to the frame. Easy Peasy like that Team Montana Guy says.
