I have tried these 3 times and they only lasted two seasons. No matter how I tryed to secure them they made marks on the reg when the wind was blowing. I think a good wax job is MUCH better than these covers.

I assume you are talking about the garage type covers that go on the front of the 5th wheel. we have one and use it in Florida. They may mildew but can be cleaned. We had the cover on two Montana's.

Our ADCO cover tore apart after one year of use. Unfortunately a good wax job does not protect the roof, which is what we wanted the cover to do.

Impulse bought one, stored in shed for 2 yrs, sold it!!!!. Don't need it in winter, way too hot and humid in summer to use it. I'm in florida also.

I had an Adco on my Cougar travel trailer. It lasted 8 or 9 years up here in the northeast. Yes, it got worn and would have needed replacement this year had I not traded the trailer in for the Montana. But, I bought won this fall, mostly based on my good luck with the other one, for this camper. It doesn't retain moisture, the material breathes and I haven't had issues with the wind causing it to mark or scratch. Watch for sharp edges, though. I cut up a swim noodle for all the downspouts on the gutters and fit them on so they wouldn't tear the material or break the downspouts. Like anything else, it should be put away clean and dry. I keep it stored in it's bag when not in use. Based on my experience, I would recommend this cover.

IMHO, covered storage is the only way to go. Keeps the hot sun off in the summer and keeps the snow/ice off in the winter. Worth every penny.

I had an ADCO whole RV cover once ... some of it stayed in Kansas ... some ended up in Nebraska. I dunno what the definition of "wind" is to some. In reference to Kansas wind, no matter how many straps, cords, sashes, or bungees you weave over the cover ... it'll start flapping in a few weeks and it's downhill from there.

I think they are a waste of money.

I can attest to several points made earlier in this thread. I agree covered storage IS the way to go but it is many times more costly. Several thousand dollars may not be easy to come by for many and is the best way to beat the sun and wind damage. I myself am on my second year with a Calmark cover. I have had a few instances where sharps on the rig wore "just right" on the strap or rubbed somewhere else. I am curious HOW did you get the noodle to stay on the rain gutters? They are perhaps my biggest potential problem. Despite having to fight wind and cold I still recommend a cover of some kind. This is our third rig and both of the previous two suffered greatly from UV radiation. We all see the decals fade and shrivel up but much more happens. Every object made of plastic will turn brittle that when touched will snap off. Some of the trim will dry and shrink. The list goes on, point is that much more suffers from UV radiation than the decals. I have one corner on the back that is the downwind side. The approximately 1 foot length of fabric has migrated to this corner. It flaps from the wind and did notice this summer there is a slight blackening along the edge of the endcap. It didn't rub off with soap and water. I do hope there is some product to restore this finish but if this is all that decays over the next few years I'll consider the cover a success. I also recommend sheltering from the weather.

I had an Adco cover. I only cover the prevent all the bee dodo from getting on my RV in the spring. It is a pain to clean it all off. The last Adco cover I had was brought new in April of 2013. By October of 2013 it was toast. Split down the middle and was down around the trailer. And a month after I had it, it already had a tear in it where nothing on the trailer would have caused it, and it was a seam. The cover I had before was a Calmark, I think I will be going back to it.

When my Calmark bites it I will either build a covered building for it or go with the Sunbrella fabric again, Calmark is certainly the gold standard for covers.

I had an ADCO cover for one year. Why only one year, It literaly fell apart. Try to get ADCO to honor the so called three year warranty. I live in Southwest Florida and the sun is brutal on painted and jellcoat surfaces. Even in the winter the sun will eat up a cover. Don't plan for the cover to last in the Florida sun. Save your money for a RV port. In the meantime wax frequently.

Well, I guess my experiences are the exception to the rule based on other posts. Now, I don't throw this cover on after every trip. It goes on in the fall after the winterizing is done and comes off in the spring for the camping season. Maybe it's not that good in the heat, I don't know. It sure does what I need it to up here. Well worth the money to me.

They work ok. I got the 3 yr warrantee from camperworld, and have had 3 new ones in 4 years. I just pay for the warrantee. I cover all the sharp edges, but it still seems to rip. It beats the hot Arizona beating on it. We are on the road a lot now, so the one we got now should last longer.

I'm here in SWFL, use it on my 2009 Jayco bunkhouse. Last two years, mildew only on roof, comes off easy. My unit still looks new and no sun damage. These covers will only last you two years, have to treat it like its made out of tissue when you put it on and off. That's when you usually get the rips. Piece of advice, treated it like a long hotdog and roll both sides to roof and lower it slowly into a clean garbage can, front first. Then to put it back on just pull it up from front and drag it to the rear and fold over sides, seems to work for me.

If I lived in a part of the country where it was always warm, like the OP, a plain old pole barn would work fine. It would keep the sun off it.

ADCO Fail. The straps are secured to the fabric only by two one-inch rows of stitching - not by the grommets right next to the stitching. I looked at the grommets and assumed they secured the straps...my bad. Two of the straps tore off in the first wind. The constant movement of the fabric abraded the roof at the shallow corners above the wheels, where the roof angles down toward the rear of the coach. A job for eternabond and lap sealant.

I have had 3. Here in Arizona,it gets quite warm. We are gone most of the time. You have to cover all sharp edges, and downspouts. They do put a little black marks here and ther, nothing that a mr clean magic eraser wont fix.
I also get the Camperworld warranty. I usually get a new one every 2 years, as it does rip.
