Autoformer Noise

I'm looking for a spot to place the Hughs autoformer. How much noise does this baby make while in operation? Could I place it under the bed if I had a mind to, and still be able to sleep at night?

Only noise we hear is clicking sometimes when it activates. That's it.

If it has a contactor in it, there is a possibility that it may develop a coil vibration, (and associated noise) also, it may be attitude sensitive, that is it may have to be mounted upright.

I am still looking into mounting it behind the breaker panel and above the washer/dryer closet, but didn't want to hear it humming away all the time.

Thanks all for the info.

Mine was dealer installed on it's side. So far no noise that we are aware of.

I looked at all the documentation provided with the Hughes Autoformer and could find nothing about whether it had to be vertical. I would advise calling Hughes to confirm though.
