We always put out rope lighting around the front and side of the RV. Even at night we know where the slides and hitch pin are. Just stay outside of the lights. Makes a good daytime marker to.

GOD blessed me with being bald. The top of my head is always a target of something. The first thing I do, When the slides come out the noodles go on. They are only $.99 cents at the dollar Store. One of the best investments I ever made. It also save shoulders, necks, and @#%^&**^$$%(sweet talk). BE SAFE, GET A NOODLE

I hate to say this but everytime I see this subject line I bust out laughing. Not because of your pain, but because of the verbage and your well descipt story. I a lot out here know exactly what you are talking about.
Noodles for the Noodle.

We have used the noodles in the past, but I was worried about damaging the the rubber gasket when taking it on an off. We don't camp for long periods of time so the noodle is off and on.

We now use tennis balls on the corners. You just cut a slit...X in them and they cover the corners really great without hitting the gasket.

Colleen,
I forget to duck when I walk under the center of the slideout or else I raise my head too quick, that's why I use the noodles. I used to use the tennis ball trick but I was still splitting my skull on the edge in the middle.
