12v Air compressors

I swear, I ran 4 searches and can't find a type of 12 volt Air Compressor that some were recommending a couple of weeks ago. I think Ozz had one and a couple of others also. Anyone know what I am talking about?

Yepper, Viair is best, but pricey, I bought the harbor Freight, 2 of them ,one spare, but I have about 9,000 miles on the latest one, and transferring it to the '08. Be sure to buy a good pressure switch, otherwise the compressor won't be protected.

The Harbor Freight web has the unit for 69.95 yet I got them from their store for 49.95. Like OZ I bought two. The part number is
93186. I tested the unit on the 18th and it pumped the 5 gal holding tank up to 110psi and was still going when I shut it off.
Good luck,

Good luck,
I have the HF also, and for $49.95. They are always having sales.

I might add that the heads were loose on my two, real loose, I just tightened them and then they were fine. And have been since.

I ordered one from Viair, they have a high quality one. It has a coil that pulls in and closes contacts on a heavy duty set of contacts. The 'lipstick' type is pretty light duty for a 20 amp plus load.
You can Google Viair and a few vendors will pop up. I don't remember the place I bought mine, I think it was an off road accessory store.

I bought the Harbor Freight unit mentioned and returned it. It did not work for me. Purchased a Viair and have been very happy with the performance. They now make one specifically for RVers that has a shut off right on the pump handle. Could be I had a faulty unit from Harbor, but I just got tired of buying units that did not work.

I have had he harbor freight unit for two year now, for the price it is fine... 49.95 MINUS 15% IF YOU watch their ad's. That Viair air is about 4 time's that price and they burn out just as quick.. So do yourself a favor and get two harbor freight and get on down the road... Oh, I didn't see your reservation for the BRANSON GET TOGEATHER, We will have a speical meetingt on Portable air compressions, You should be there my friend>>>>>> Later John
