New Montana 3725RL Big Sky

Picked up our new 3725RL and our taking it on a local shake down camping trip next week. This our second Montana. Traded a 3100RL in for the 3725RL. I was a little concerned about my tow vehicle. I have a 2014 F350 Ford 4x4 Super Cab with the 6.7 Turbo charged diesel. When we brought it the truck seemed to handle it really well. We will see how it goes when it's loaded.

Congratulations! We really loved that rig, but we have too many mods on this one and I'm too lazy to move/remake them. Your truck should be fine with it, but the test drive will tell the story.

We too have a new (December) 3725 that we traded our 3400 for. We have a 2008 GMC 3500 (one ton) extended cab. From what I hear, the newer rigs have a bit more GVW rating than the older ones, such as our 2008. I have discovered, after running it over the scales, that we are at capacity, or slightly over, depending on what figures you use. Truck handles it fine, being a diesel. I have had no problems with hills, up or down. One thing I found, is that while the 3725 and the 3400 are close to the same in overall weight, the 3725 is MUCH heavier on the pin, almost 1000 pounds heavier. But I also found that the weight on the axles is around 600 pounds less that the 3400 was. I will just have to be careful about how much stuff we put in the trailer and the pickup. I should mention that ours is the SRW version of the one ton, as it's also my daily driver. I have talked to the dealer, and he said basically the older rigs and the new ones are similar, but with some modifications to the springs, brakes, and the tires. I noted that while ours has the 17 inch tires/wheels, the new one would have 18 inch tires/wheels. It is sometimes tough to figure out if it would be advantageous to trade up on the tow rig. The new rigs have higher capacity, but they also weigh more too, thus the gain in cargo capacity is negated by the increase in overall "empty" weight. For now I'll stick with what we have. It works!

I have generally the same combination. I think you are okay. I wouldn't want to add much additional weight though. We are getting ready to be on the road for 6 weeks and we don't "stock up" on supplies. I found you can easily add an additional 300 - 400 pounds trying to purchase a bunch of stuff in advance. We just buy what we need as we go. If I haven't used something out of my basement in a month or two it doesn't go with me. I think you will really love that floor plan.
