Prestofit Step Huggers???

Anyone using these step protectors? Trying to find a way to protect the carpet on our stairs going up into the bedroom on our late 2006 Montan 3400RL. The Desert Sand color looks close to the color of our carpet and are removable so they can be washed. But.... do they stay in place with the fasteners included? Or have any of you tried the clear plastic versions avaialble from other vendors? Here is a link to the Prestofoit Rug Huggers:

I buy my step rugs (outdoor carpet material) from an RVer who is a member here at Catalina Spa RV Park in Desert Hot Springs, CA. He hails from Wisconsin. He makes the step covers for 5th wheels and motor homes. He cuts the carpet such that it wraps around and under the back and front of the step. He inserts six grommets, three on one side and three opposite them on the other side. The rugs are then held in place with three 14-inch tie wraps. They really hold well and have lasted over four years. I just bought three more to have when these wear out.

Orv, are you talking about the INSIDE steps? I have the outdoor ones (Presto) that have the gromets but can't figure out how you would get to the back of the steps to attach the ties on the indoor steps?
TIA paperheart

I'm referring to the inside steps from the Kitchen to the bedroom in a late 2006 Montana 3400RL.

I'm sorry. I hadn't even thought of coverings for the inside steps. We just use a rubber backed rug on the inside steps.

With the covers installed on the inside steps as shown, wouldn't they cover the slots that provide heat/ventilating air flow to the basement bay?

The return air vent would need to be left uncovered. I think that step would use a different sized version. My DW suggested just wrapping the cover over the bullnose of the step on each step for conformity.
