Whoa the price!
I was looking at the new Montanas on the local dealer website tonight. The MSRP has increased signifigantly over last year. The Big Sky has jumped from $80,000 to $95,000 and the 3400RL has went from $65,000 to $77,000 in just one year.
I about fell out of my shoes when I looked at those prices. Has anyone else noticed an increase in the price at their local dealer?
Phil

Great! My net worth just went up!
Actually, I just ran a "Consumer" NADA (little different from the bank's "secret book" ), and I was astounded to find the price for my 2007 3400RL - build date of 7/20/2006 - as a whopping $71,000 used retail price! Maybe not as far off as I thought when I saw that...

Hilltop RV in Michigan is advertising a 2008 Big Sky for $49,300. That's a great price and it looks new.
Guess it just depends on dealer stock and how desperate they are to get a sale.

Judy, that might be "last year's model" now as they have been making 2009s since June? That is a great price - according to NADA.

They may want a lot, but they probably won't get that much. With the economy the way it is now they will have a hard time selling most of them.

I just looked at a 2009 and there is a ton of new stuff on the Montanas, like remote control, hitches, satellite, electric awnings, etc. I was wondering what that did to price. I probably easily spent that difference adding that stuff to mine in 2007.

I just bought a new 2009 from hilltop in mich 3465SA and they beat the so called wholes sale places in lower mich .. that is why we have a 09 .. i know it was not on the lot as it was in production at the time and armn told hilltop he would custom the items we wanted so it was fresh off the line and below $50,000.00 besides so its not what you think your unit mite be worth , try selling it for the moon but it won't sell for those big prices as the new stuff is way below what you see as sugested retail..sailer

Now is the best time to buy a new 5th wheel. If your not trading you can get a good price. The best prices I have seen in the last 3 years. Big Sky MSRP has really went up, but you don't have to pay the MSRP. We were within a phone call in buying a 2009 Big Sky, most all options. But we paid a little more for (SOB). The RV Dealerships that have them on the Lot are in some cases willing to deal. We are very happy will out price. The problem we had we couldn't find the floor plan we wanted, we had a enclosed bath room and never want another one, so much wasted space the split bathroom is much more efficent. The closest 2009 to us was in Nebraska, found a lot with the rear entertainment center but we like our rear window. Good Luck... GBY...
P.S. We are doing all we can to help the RV industry we bought two 2009's this year.

I was taking to my dealer in Indiana about some warranty work a couple days ago, and asked him that guestion he said they were getting 6-8k more for the 2009 over the 2008. I have the 2008 3400RL kind of glad now. Some of the new stuff would be nice, but I think I can live without them for 6-8K

well we are sort of thinking about a new unit and the big Sky is the only upgrade in the montana line since we have the 06 3400. There are many new features we like on the 09 models. We figured to get perhaps 5 years out of the 3400 it but we don't think so. We will take a good look at the new models and the prototypes at the fall rally.

We just went to the RV show in Goshen on Sat. The 3400 was selling for just under $45,000. The show was very dead, not many dealers and not many buyers, that is very sad. Our dealer (Tiara RV) was not there. We bought in the fall last year and are glad we did. The upgrades didn't seem worth the difference in price, to us. Sure do like the REAL Corian tho.

We were in the fairgrounds for this. This is what we thought to! Last years attendance was way up and this years was really way down. Like you said truly sad. We talked to a couple of dealers and they said they were selling units...dont know if this is what they wanted you to believe or what b/c we did not see one Sold sign on any of the outdoor units. But inside there were 2 motorhomes with Sold signs. Tiara RV was not in the sale but did have a couple of units parked up the street from the fairgrounds...one being a 2009 2955RL Montana priced at $29900.00
If memory serves me right they had a Big Sky at the fairgrounds 2009 priced at $60 something.

We just love our 2008 3400. There will always be great sales in our future, I'm sure. The RV dealers have to be giving their inventories away right now, if you in the market. Dennis
