Hi
Hi
I am Don, Dustytuu's(Dusty),Husband. We have been RV fans for several years. Our 3rd 5th wheel is now a Montana 3295. That we bought new last year.
I retire this June and looking forward to traveling more and longer vacations.
I have been an electrician for over 40 years.

Hey Don,
Welcome. I hope you are enjoying the MOC. We have so many nice folks on board. Don one of the ongoing problems with our rigs is electrical type questions. And we all are "experts". NOT! Some of us have just a dab of info about the stuff and think we know all there is to know. This gets us into a lot of trouble.
Actually we do get a lot of questions and your expertise might really help us "wannabes" to understand better what the stuff is and how to make it work better for us in our rigs! Any and all info along those lines should do nothing but help ALL MOCers.
Guess where I'm going with this is that since you have so much experience please don't hesitate to jump in on any post where you think you could help direct the member to get whatever question or problem he/she may have solved. There.... I knew I could do it!
Again. Welcome to the MOC.
HamRad

Hi Don and Welcome to the forum.
My contribution to this thread is just to "DITTO" what HamRad said. Having an electrician with over 40 years of experience can only be a plus to this forum.

Hi Don, Welcome to the MOC. Our first unit was a 3295RK (2003) which we loved, but due to some of the new options added to the Montana we traded for our current 3475RL (2006) on our way south this winter. So guess you can guess we are totally sold on the Montana fifth wheels. We are now retired and living in our unit 8 or 9 months a year. Retirement is great...as we say ...every day is Saturday and we are on one looooong vacation! Enjoy the forum.

Welcome to the forum. I will put you right to work. Can I get 50 amps delivered at a distance of 320 feet over #6 wire? If not, what do I need to do. See how easy it is to get involved with this bunch. Happy RVing...

Don
Welcome to the forum. I'll ditto what Dennis said. There are frequent electrical questions here and I'm sure you can help. One of the things that I think some confusion lies is in the 2005 and up 50 amp service. It is not a 20/30 split but true 50 and the extra 20 is not just for the washer/dryer and 2nd AC. On our board the main breaker is two breakers hooked together that say 50. Or am I confused? Well noithing like being the new guy and getting put to work immediately.
Happy trails....................

to pattothead the 50 amp plugs on your monty are 220 volt but in the unit itself they use it as 2 110volt circuits there is nothing in the rv that is 220 except for the panel
