MORryde - Step Above Entry Stairs

We just purchased 3rd Montana trailer-3120rl. We have not picked it up yet. Having some additional items added. We seasonal camp and will be parking it next to our raised deck. This has the new fold in the door entry stairs. 1-Does anyone how easy or hard it will be to remove them while we are parked and 2 how easy will it be to replacement when we pull out for our road trips?

They are screwed into the floor. While easy to remove, I would think running the screws in and out would weaken the floor over time.

We purchased a 2017 3791RD with the same entry steps and we love them. With the steps in the up position you'll find 8 screws which secure the stairs to the interior/entry floor. These screws appear to be the only thing holding them in place so it "appears" that by removing these screws you should be able to remove the stairs. You may want to discuss with your dealer during your walk-thru.

We won't buy our 2017 until they removed those steps and added aluminum steps that fold under since we have two homebases with porches at both. They wanted to sell us the trailer so they did it. Turns out Keystone has a kit for that and the mounts were still there under the skin. They just cut the skin and added the steps and then put a covering edge on the cut skin that came in the kit.

I am 180 degrees from you on this one. I won't take delivery of another camper that doesn't have the better steps!

But I do understand why in yours and the OP cases they won't work out for ya.

Somewhere out there somebody is going to come up with a good idea for steps......In fact I was thinking maybe they could come up with something that slides out from under the trailer but is all one piece?? There has to be something better than the flimsy OEM fold ups that will also work for folks that don't have clearance for the Moyrides.......

I agree, but we didn't accept OEM steps. The steps in the kit were the Alumisteps from Lippert that we replaced our OEM steps with on our 2010

I think that I would modify the deck platform before I removed the steps. Your deck is most likely wood. To modify it would be a circular saw, a couple pieces of wood and a few screws. Those steps are s-o-o-o much better/safer then the pull outs and quite possibly even better then any wood steps from the deck

OK, different point of view here. We have added the early version of the "Step Above" so not sure how the new ones match up. But what I did was drill out the four rivets on each side of the steps where they attach to the hinge and replaced with four pins.
We still have our OEM folding steps, so we leave the Mor/ryde steps in our storage shed at our Winter site and use the OEMs for our summer travels. In the Winter I bring out the Mor/ryde steps and we use them all Winter. Works for us.

Using Pins would be a much better option if you can go that route.

Just to add to my post above:
I was worried that constant removal and reinstall of the screws into the floor would result in worn holes and poor holding ability of the screws, thus the reason for leaving the hinge mounting bracket in place.
