Jeff H,

I'm visiting Brevard County Florida on business and there's a Hess station across the Imperial Hotel of Wickham Rd that has Diesel for $2.35.

Way cool....I am not far from there I will check it out. Thanks. Yesterday, I left the house and diesel at the local Texaco on Merritt Island was $2.43 going home last night it was $2.55 and this morning on the way out it was $2.59. I plan on visiting the Hess station on Wickham. Isn't that the one right up by I-95?

While you are here in Brevard if anything comes up where you need a hand from a local feel free to give a yell my way.

God Bless America,

Went into town Friday with intent to fuel up as all the news indicated prices going up. Got into town 8AM and figured I could do my errands and fill up before heading home. At 8AM diesel was 2.499 and when I pulled into station to fill up at 10 AM it was 2.659. Just can't win. Good friend owns the station and I teased them that they were not being fair as they usually raise prices after 3PM, but they pointed out they hadn't raised price the day before as they should have. Oh well we're still friends and we are planning a trip for this weekend. Can't take it with you and my philosophy is spend your kids inheritance before they get a chance to after you're gone.

I have lost my sense of humor since diesel hit $3 per gallon.

Would it be wrong for the government to step in and establish price controls for fuels? As was posted earlier, the oil companies are making record profits. These profits are at the expense of the public. If a oil company had a million barrels of oil in their storage facilities and the price went up $1.00 a barrel, is that not a million dollars of profit?
I think most business's do take price increases as the cost of their merchandise goes up. I do not think fuel, a commodity that all people use should be increased this way.
These companies should be taxed on this present obscene profit are change their accounting procedure.
Just my nickels worth.

Thursday Diesel was 2.25. By Saturday it had jumped to 2.35 here in Gainesville, Texas. It's still 2.35 this morning so maybe it's going to stay there. Hope so. Diesel was 2.49 in Sherman, Texas on Saturday.
