Seattle area

We have friends that will be in the area this summer and travel with 65'...motorhome and cargo trailer.....Does anyone have any suggestions?????

Seattle is limited for RV Parks. Depending on "amenities" and location, There is the Blue Sky RV Park in Preston. Nice park, very clean, very strict re dogs (we travel with 2 Corgis). You have to walk them off the premises to do their business. If amenities are not a concern, there is an rv park at the Renton fairgrounds. No frills, just hook up, and grass, but very reasonable price. There are a couple of RV parks off I-90. Look like parking lots on the freeway.....

Seattle is not RV friendly. The best option we have found (our son lives in Seattle) is Lake Pleasant RV Park in Bothell. This park is fairly close to Seattle on the north side. We have tried (or visited) all of the other options and this is where we stay whenever we visit Seattle.

We have stayed at the KOA Seattle-Tacoma a few times and found it to be a decent park. Nice to walk the dog along the river outside the park.

Depending on what end of Seattle you want to be in this has easy access off I5 or 405 and reasonable rates.

Be warned that Lake Pleasant in Bothell is mostly a live in park.

I work nearby and while it looks nice the trailers never move.

May not be a problem for you, but I have found I prefer spots that don't have permanent residents.

If you go towards the ocean you have many more options.

We are booked at Lake Pleasant June 10-20. The main reason we are staying with them is because we are leaving the Monte and taking an Alaska cruise. They have an area you can move your truck/trailer to and plug 110 into while on the cruise for $3.00 per day.

Lake Pleasant does have a higher than normal percentage of long term residents. They tend to be placed up front around the lake. The owners don't allow "junk" RVs. Consequently, all of the rigs are fairly new and well maintained. They look just like the transient's RVs only they don't move. I would guess 40-50% of the spaces are taken by us transient campers spending a few days. I wouldn't let images of a scene from Deliverance dissuade you from staying here.

As I wrote before, Lake Pleasant is convenient to the north side of Seattle. The KOA is more convenient if you are visiting the south of Seattle. Traffic in Seattle is not fun and neither location will avoid congestion.

Hope the KOA has removed a few trees. VERY TIGHT for a Monty. I learned an expensive lesson by not paying as much attention to a tree and ended up with a new roof when I got home. I just patched up the ripped roof material to make it home. But as others have said--not many choices.
