Look what you're missing!

In case you are located in a more southern climate and may have forgotten what winter looks like, I took a few photos to remind you!

Due to varying circumstances, I was out in the snow and ice storm earlier today. I drove close to about 200 miles total. Anyway, I took some photos and here are a few of them. The ice on the mirror and on the front of the truck accumulated mostly while driving today.

This is our first winter away from all that and I'm glad I saw it in a picture! Now the dw misses the white stuff, but she isn't the one that has to shovel it! Thanks for the reminder of why we came south.

Nice pictures and a reminder why I don't live in NY anymore. We were there for Christmas and my truck looked just like yours looks now. How long will the snow last where you are?

It’s very un-predictable where we are. Last Friday it was near 70°F I hooked up the Monty and drove to the scales and back. Right now its 34° and there are radio reports of power outages in the area. The ice is melting some but round two is scheduled for later today when it’s supposed to turn into snow and add another few inches. It’s raining at the present.

On Edit: There are a few hundred residents (2nd edit: few thousand customers) without power Due to falling limbs. While I type this edit our lights flickered once.

We are not far enough into the southern climate. We had freezing rain and sleet last night and this morning everything is iced over here in N Texas. Second time this year so far.
BUT. It supposed to warm back into the 60's by the weekend.

It has been cold here for AZ. Last 3 nights was in the 30s. But today will be in 75 so a warm up is coming.
We experienced the murphy's law that the gas tank will always run out at 2 A.M. last night.

Those pictures remind us why we don't live in Colorado in the winter.
I like the picture of the mirror.

Bill, ditto on the weather here in the mountain state (ice, sleet, freezing rain, rain, and snow all within 24 hours). We did have a power outage at the stick house. The remedy was a simple trip downstairs to the garage and wheel the Kipor 3000 and carry the Honda 2000 to the porch. Extension cords through the window (away from the porch because of CO fears), and soon we had heat, power to the fridge and freezer, and a single light. Then this morning (after a root canal - ouch), I had to make a detour by the house. The kids were off of school and Dad made himself to be a true hero when one generator was dedicated to the Plasma and the Directv receiver. What a blessing these generators are.

Sorry to hear you’re without power. Hope you get it back soon!

Just before typing this I went hunting a flashlight. The lights flickered off & on about 3 or 4 times. I thought the power was going to go. I have a generator I would use if I need to. I’m hearing reports of over a 900 customers without power in our area.

All this "global warming" is really raising havoc around the country.

Guess our signature picture tells it all about our weather.

Won't rub it in, more.

BTW, we still have room in the MOC Quartzsite circle!

Tell me again about "Global Warming". Several times this Winter I've resisted the temptation to write the weather guy and explain about shoveling all that "partly cloudy" from in front of the door. Hope everybodys power comes back up soon.

simonsrf, if Scotty could get the transporter working, we'd be all over that, although I believe the dilithium crystals are breaking up.

Gramps,

We feel your pain and hope to see you at Quartzsite next year.

Then, you'll get to sit and snicker with the rest of us! Eleven of us still left in the circle! Looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday!

BTW, 75/43 today. Flip-flops, tank shirt and shorts for today....not a bad forecast.
