Tailgate StepPlate

I recall an after market unit for other than Fords listed somewhere, of course I can't find it now. Anyone remember the post or manufacturer???????? The one I saw bolts to the inner side of the tailgate and works much the same way as the one from Ford.....

Would appreciate help!!!!!

Phil,
I'm not sure what "step plate" is. Are you looking for a tailgate step for helping to step up into the bed of the truck?

Something like THIS?

Wayne -
If I'm not mistaken, the Ford one mounts right on the tailgate and folds out. I haven't seen it, but getting into the bed of my 3500 is a challenge. I guess I should exchange horizontal hold for altitude. It seems I'm getting shorter and wider and need to get narrower and taller.

Yes, I'm familiar with the Ford OEM one, and I have seen some after market ones. I cannot get into my F350 bed unless I leave the tailgate up and use the bumper License plate step. I have seen in the past, on doing a search, some different tailgate steps. Maybe a google search will render what is needed.

Or

Are two quick results. There are many more.

Wayne, the one I remember seeing is very similar to the Ford Step. This one mounts to the inside of the tailgate and when you lower the tailgate you can extend this step, just like the Ford.

Phil,I am not sure if this what you're looking for but here's what I use to step into the bed.
It bolts into existing holes on the frame,no drilling. Well made not cheap, but will worth the price and very clean looking.http://www.electricstep.com/eshop/pc...2&idproduct=42

I have seen a picture of a step that looks like it mounted from on the inside of the tailgate but couldn't tell you now where it was at. I like the step that jjackflash uses though. Myself, I just use a plastic stool from Wal-Mart and carry it in the back of the truck. I find that I need it all of the time in order to reach into the side of the truck bed at different locations around the truck.

I carry a small step ladder too Bill just in case I need to get in the bed while the Monty is hooked up and I don't have access to the back.

Has anyone found a supplier for the "over the tire" step? I saw it once and didn't note the pertinent info.
