Ford PSD 6.0 ESP 200K plan

Some may be aware some may not, I was not until this weekend. Ford announced in September a 200K mile plan for all 6.0 PSD that are still under the 100K mark. You can get 7 year 200K mile plan that extended your 6.0 PSD engine for $1,470.00 is what I got it for. Was quoted originally 1950.00 but after shopping the diesel-stop web site where they are selling for 1470 they agreed to do to same.
Cheap insurance fr anyone planning on keeping it past the 100K mark, one trip in will cost you at least 1470.00 for any type of repair after the 100K, good thing is no deductible either.

IMO that is a real good idea. We will be purchasing the Ford Extended Warranty for our 08 PSD as we will be keeping this truck for the duration.

Thanks, that's great information. We have 40K on or 06 and plan to keep it for many years to come. It's starting to get better milage now, last tank was 18.35. That's running solo with the speed control set on 75 mph. Maybe next time it'll go up to 30 mpg.

Oh, boy...30 mpg with a 7k lb rig...not likely but we all love good dreams. I'm happy with my old clunker doing 19 mpg highway solo and 15 mpg city. I too plan to run it till the wheels fall off which....sorta snuck up on me;
Saturday had loaded a broken stick house dishwasher in for trip to recycling center, pulled out and on way heard the dreaded grinding noise of a worn-out brake pad...left front according to my senses.
Well short story...2 new rotors (because won't miss match left/right parts replacement) and new brake pads for front about $150.00, one breaker bar and a six point 13/16 socket broken and replaced with new ones to get it stopping smoothly again. Not that upset as it has 79k miles and fresh rotors will make next years driving worry free.
Will be doing the rear's soon just because....

NONeck,
your mileage does not matter as long as it was less than 100K miles on it you can get the new program, it is for all 6.0's that fall under the 100K mile rule. Your engine had 100k warranty on it back in 03 as well, so you still do qualify. Up to you but if guy plans on keeping them which I usually don't but like this truck it's worth it. Plan on keping it for while at least, tilll warranty period is over. One trip in out of warranty and you eat up that 1400 bucks in hurry on diesels.

Is there a time limit by which you have to take advantage of this offer? With only 15,000 miles on my 2007 F350, I'd prefer to wait a few years before deciding whether I was going to keep the truck long enough for this to be a worthwhile investment.

Hmmm, Ok you got me looking but not finding enough details and it suggests a cost of $2k or $2.6k and extends the 5yr/100k to 7yr/200k for which I'm sitting with a 2003 so at best gives me 2yr more coverage? I don't think I get this deal as I bought the truck used...and for some reason still think its 75k engine warranty.

Broome101 you stated: "You can get 7 year 200K mile plan that extended your 6.0 PSD engine for $1,470.00 is what I got it for. Was quoted originally 1950.00 but after shopping the diesel-stop web site where they are selling for 1470 they agreed to do to same."
I looked on the diesel-stop web site and didn't find anywhere I could purchase the 7 year 200K mile plan, just discussions. Could you post a link or PM me the link please. I also called FORD and was quoted $2255 for this extended warrenty.
Like stated it's a cheap choice to have if you plan to keep you truck.
Thanks,
Kim G (kegger101)

Call Brad at Armstrong Ford, Hickory NC not sure of number but you can goggle it to come up with it. Tell him Rodney Broome referred you to him he will fix you up. On web site you mentioned look under 200 Plan several other dealers names and number sin there and contacts that are selling them as well. Good luck few have gotten them for less than what I did as well, check it out on page 11 of the posting.

We just got a new 2008 Chevy Siverado LTZ 3500 4x4 and we did get the extended warranty. This is the first extended warranty I have ever purchased. Really never need one, but with the new emissions system (Thanks Tree Huggers) I just don't trust new systems and with the cost of replacement or to have the DPF cleaned I just didn't want to worry about the hassle and cost. Have read a lot about the DPF and I thinks its just a waste of materails and Diesel. The Diesel Place.com many are and have removed the system already and comments are very positive on the results. There is a kit out already that replaces the DPF and its bolt off bolt on. I paided a lot of money for the new Truck and really think the DPF system isn't worth the extra money it will cost and is going to cost more for the extra fuel during the burn off procedure. Life is good... GBY...

David,
My truck is over two years old and has 60K miles on it and I got it without a problem. I have sen on another forum where some have even gotten it at 90K miles just before the 100K warranty expires. On all new 6.4 sold from 9-07 on will have the 200K warranty at n o additional charge from what I have read up on. The 200K ESP went into effect sometime in September of this year.

Suggest you guys re-check the deductible costs. I was under the impression that all things in the power train were covered as was my older 2000 model. However, just last week, I had to have a seal replaced on the from main. It cost me a $100.00 at my local dealer for the deductible. I was a little surprised.

On original plan it has always had 100.00 deductible after 36K miles. The new plan if you take it out has no deductible and goes to 200K miles instead of 100K. You have to pay for the 200K mile ESP plan to get it. All new 6.4L after 9-07 come with it as part of the new truck.
What's reallt tough pill to swallow is the guys that bought the 6.4 prior to 9-07 only had the 100k mile plan if I had one I would be going back to Ford and asking for the additional 100K warranty.

So where did you read you read up on this he asks? I closed my deal on October 1 and didn't see anything about it in the paper work. I don't know that I will have this vehicle that long (a whole different discussion), but it would be nice to know it is there.

Hold on there...it extends the 5yr/100k to 7yr/200k so there is an age component here that for some of us part timers does very little. My 2003 is going on 79k miles so...I agree the question stands..."What is the price of guarantee for the term?"

Carl Dieselstop.com do search under 6.0 PSD for 200K Mile Plan you will find about 12 pages on the topic, it is true I purchased one myself as my truck is only 2 years old and plan on keeping it at least 5 more years so in long run it will pay for itself if i only have 1 visit to dealer or something gone wrong. These things re not cheap to work on.
