I-10 Florida on 12/28

Did anyone else have the pleasure of traveling on I-10 between Tallahassee and I-75 eastbound today?

Heavy traffic and everything kept slowing and then stopping. We would crawl for 5 or 10 miles then the race would start for about 10 miles, then everyone going 80 weaving in and out started slamming on brakes again for another 5 or 10 miles of stopping and crawling.

It took us an extra 2 hours to make the run.

That's why we are waiting for tomorrow...hopefully all the traffic was yesterday.

It was the same on I-77, I-64 and I-95 yesterday too, one big parking lot. At times we were at a complete standstill, then all of a sudden we were back to 60 miles an hour and then stop again. It took us an extra 4 hours.

There was no accident, just a lot of people and people who do not know how to drive. Insist on staying in the left lane and going slow, won't move over and let people pass, so everyone is changing lanes.

Last year we left on December 14th and arrived in Florida on the 18th. I-65 and I-10 was not bad at all. I-75 south was busy as usual. I suppose with Christmas being on Thursday, fuel prices cheaper this year, and us heading down later all contributed to this traffic mess.

I think next year we will be heading down closer to the first part of December.

That's why we try and make Florida before the end of October. There was no traffic problems then.
