More in the Improvement Saga, 07 3400RL

It's raining and nasty out so I can't put a finish on the DVD Rack's I made for behind the TV in the 3400RL, but here they are, just visualize a finish sanding, stain to match and a top coat.

Looks like I will have to take a break from this for a while so more will be posted when I can.

Jim, That looks great. On mine I have a Bose subwoofer behind my TV in the LR. You guys with this talent ___ss me off. Just kidding, of course. My DW loves her movies as she has about 300 in binders above the couch. We had to get rid of the plastic covers in order to store them all. We loan them out to many folks when we get to know someone. Right now, our neighbor, a retired minister has our book two right now.

You do do great work. I wish I could do as good a job. The mount I put in the BR is very rough, but it works.....Of course, a workshop would help also.

Jim,
We are so glad that you have decided to winter only 8 miles from our stick house. It's to bad we are out of town in the RV. There are many things I could think of for you to do. (LOL)

I can't wait to see your recent improvements. We'll be back on the [s]4th[/s]5th (Feb).

Phil, I put our subwoofer under the desk, didn't like the sound when it was in a box, could hear it better outside than inside. As for tools, I have an 18V Roybi Saw and drill combination, a saber saw, a box cutter, hand file and misc stuff like a nail set, sand paper, can of stain, etc., my woodwork shop has been in storage for 3 years. Mostly my stuff is grand expectations and dogged determination.

Jim, I would like to move my woofer also, however, under the desk sits my wife's Gateway Computer so not much room left under there. I think she needs a laptop like me, but getting her to agree is another story. We hate when we have to change computers.

God, I have 3 computers, 2 laptops and a netbook, left the tower in storage as space is a premium, then the keyboard, monitor and cabling. Put a magnet on her harddrive and that should change her mind, when it crashes, of course NEVER say anthing about it.

Nice job. Good use for otherwise wasted space.

When we put in the LCD, the hardware for mounting created a partial wall in that space. Behind that we have boxes with tax returns and receipts for the past several years. Also, some DVD storage. Vicki also has DVD storage under the desk. I think there's about 400 DVD's in here. I wish I had your talent and also the tools.

Our Montana does not have the swinging TV shelf in the living room cabinet. Ours had the screwed in place TV. If we ever change out the bedroom TV for an LCD I think I'll work in some storage in that space. But we're not planning on replacing that TV until it dies and we're not in a hurry for that to happen.
