Holding tank valve stuck

So 2nd trip in our 2017 3790RD and I wanted to flush out the blank tank.

Got set-up and went to pull the handle for the blank tank, and its stuck tight, no movement at all. And from the way it feels, its not the valve itself, but rather the rod through the wall in the convenience center is stuck, probably due to rust was my thought.

So I fortunately had some oil with me (would have preferred 3in1 I guess, but all I had was some basic oil) so I dropped some of that on and left it for a while. Then when I returned, and gave it a good strong pull, it finally came lose.

So I don't want this to happen again. Should I just leave the oil on there, or grease the rod, or do any of you use spray on 'dry-lube' for these?

Thanks!
Chris

Had the same issue with our grey tank valve. Handle crimp let go on me. Ended up replacing entire valve and remote pull assembly. Valterra parts were no compatible. Cables in underbelly not secured as recommended by manufacturer.

Had the same problem and now I spray some dry lube on it about every 3 time I use it. Love Keystone engineering putting the water hookups above the dump handles.

Yes - placement is poor, and I find the new hose connectors in there worse than my previous units connectors - they tend to leak all the time...

Changed mine to garden hose quick disconnects
Eliminates the hose thread leaking from repeated connections.

Glad you got it loose. Normally the problem is the cable run not the rod the cable is attached to.
