Would you winterize?

Going down to 30 tonight and 26 tomorrow night then back to normal 40s as lows. Would you winterize? Will be below 32 for 4 to 5 hrs sun night/mon morning.

If your in it no problem, if not it depends on the wind, although I have an air chuck to blow the rig out and no more trouble than that was I would do that anytime it was sitting and it might freeze.

If you are in it and running a heat source, would not. Would disconnect and bring in the water hose at night. If not in it, pressure out the water lines and dump the low water drains.

In the mid 20s no problem unless it stays there for several days. You have a 12000 pound camper that will hold a lot of heat. It takes a long time to cool that much mass.

If we are going to stay in the 20's for more then a day or two then I just turn the heat on and set it at 50....uses a little propane but we use our trailer all year long since we live in Texas...

I also set the temp at 50 if it is for only a night or two. Never had a problem.

5ers is in storage. Decided to pump the pink stuff and drain.

Only thing I couldn't do was run the ice maker with pink stuff or blow out the black tank flush.

Tried to just blow out lines but compressor wouldn't run off my portable inverter.

If you have a washer/dryer make sure you get it winterized properly. I usually winterize mine before cold weather even if I might use the 5th wheel later. The reason I do it early is I don't have 110v at storage and you must run the washer to winterize it. The rest of it can be done with the 12v pump so I don't worry about it until it gets below freezing. Pour some pink in the sinks so the traps won't freeze. Also I pour about a gallon in each holding tank just for insurance. I think I normally use about 6 gallons for everything but haven't had a problem yet. We have stayed in ours with temps below zeroF. The only problem I encountered was the front black tank valve froze up once. I think it was the cold air coming up the sewer line. It thawed out in a few days and was fine. Just a side note, if you are going to do any amount of cold weather camping, I would invest in a Pirit water hose. They are pricey, but once you hook it up you are good to go.
