Update... Coded Norcold refrig

Update!!! On Norcold refrigerator.

God is GOOD!!!

We were leaving our campground this morning to run errands. There was this car there for the rally of the Grand Design.

Guess who was there for an
event? ..... ..... .. Norcold Rep! We asked him about the magnet reset. He came over to our site and did the magnet thing. It was too wet, he said. So we are waiting..... .. For it to dry out.

He will come back before leaving the campground & try again. In the meantime, we are buying magnetic tool finder!!!

Thanks everyone for your help!!! PS.... God is good, ALL THE TIME!

A Norcold rep right there in your campground? It doesn't get any better than that

Nothing like the fall rally to get you together with who or what you need.

Just did the magnet trick on my 1210 fridge, it worked. The fridge has to be on when you do the reset.

Remove the vent upon the outside of the rig. In there should be a little black box. #128522;

Should be red light be on or off? mine is off. For those that have replaced yours with a residential fridge what model dod you get? and how did you get it through the door? Every one I have looked at will not fit even after taking the doors off.

I have a model N811 Norcold. Haven't had this problem so far. Are the problems happening to several models? I assume after reading all the info on this site and the other site listed here that the black box and red LED light is on the "back" of frig behind one of the outside vents?? Decided to throw a magnet in the camper just in case.

Glad your fridge just needed a little magnetic magic. Our Norcold 1210 stopped working while at Quartzsite, so we were using our ice chest until we arrived at Las Vegas. Turned out to be a plugged cooling unit. Total bill was right at $2500, before the extended warranty covered their share. Only took three hours to replace the unit a week ago yesterday. The fridge is working better than when new, so wonder if it was ever right from when purchased new.

I am wondering if any of these Norcold 1210's produced in the last several years are working right? Mine went through a spell a few months ago where it would maintain a freezer temp of between 6 and 18 degrees. Now the past two weeks it will go along fine and then I will have a couple of day where ice will take 2 days to freeze in trays and the temp will get up to 24 - 25 degrees and stay there for hours!

I have turned it off and on and that sometimes helps to start cooling it down again. Sure hope this doesn't turn into a "gremlin" issue like the furnace. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

We had the same issues with ours, for at least the last year. What I was told by the RVIA, RVSA mobile repair guys here in Las Vegas is, there was a plug of crystals inside the cooling unit, that tends to move, and when at Quartzsite, it decided to mostly stop the coolant flow, When we traveled up to Las Vegas, it loosened up, so it was cooling again. When he checked it, while running, he could feel cold and warm spots along the pipes in the back, which was from the plugging. They said it would just continue to get worse, and the only remedy is to replace it. New Norcold unit was $1589, labor was $660, both covered by the warranty, and then there was shipping, tax, an additional service call, and the deductable, all of which we had to cover, but I was still happy to get most of it covered. I did ask about the rebuilt, or the aftermarket units, and they said they have had too many problems with them, so not worth the gamble, won't install them anymore.
