Colorado 13' height limit?

I was just looking at this : http://www.towingworld.com/articles/towinglaws.htm

It shows a 13" height limit for trailers in Colorado. Is this a mistake? If not, my Montana can't go there. I'm 13' 2".
The limit for DC is also confusing, 13.5' in one place and 13" in another.

It appears they may have gotten their data from Trailer Life Directory...the height limits for some locations just do not seem right: 13'?????? I believe a lot of the commercial trailers, if not most, exceed that limit. Hopefully someone will provide an answer to this mystery!

We were in Colorado last June and our 5th wheel is also 13'-2". We had no problems.

Here is a web site for trailer regulations.

Looks like you are right about the 13'. I see several states that have 13' 1/2" height limit.
I live in Colorado and have not run into this as a problem. I know most over the road rigs are a lot taller than any Monty I have seen.

Yup, I don't get that especially for a western state. Maybe the state did that to eliminate their liability for accidents and with all the mountain roads that might have short tunnels they just made it the minimum.

Thanks for pointing that out. It's something to know about Colorado. My rig is under 13' right now but not by much and I haven't added the second air conditioner, yet. I guess If I just stay under 13' I am covered on height. Time to recheck by hitching up, inflating the air bags and taking a measurement to make sure to pick the right height A/C unit.

I measured my rig when I picked it up at the dealer, brand new and empty. I'm guessing it might be a couple inches lower when fully loaded for a trip. I'll have to check when we leave for Florida in March.

I wonder if it could cause a problem with insurance if you struck a limb or something in Colorado or District of Columbia and a slick adjuster measured your height and you were over the 13'?

We live in Colorado and have towed the Monty over some major and local roads with no issues. Commercial tractor/trailer rigs are taller than us and experience no issues. Perhaps on rural roads there would be an issue. We just watch our height ... no problems so far!
