Tire monitoring system

As we plan to take off 10/5 to full time, we want to get a tire monitoring system installed. What brand system would anyone here recommend? Is the elite system Pressure Pro or do other systems work just as well.

What are your experiences...

Thanks.

We have the pressure pro system and it has served us well. I would not leave the driveway without a TPMS.. If I did nt have one I would be taking a good look at the TST system.

We love our Pressure Pro system and dealers Mike and Pat McFall have been excellent. I hope Pat gets on here soon to give you the link to their site.. I can't find it for the life of me.

Doran 360RV system here.

I prefer its LCD monitor over the Pressure Pro monitor. Happy with the unit. I've got 2,500 miles of highway travelled with it, and it does bring a lot of peace of mind knowing that all of your tires are aired up. You should still physically check them at stops to inspect their condition, though.

I also have the Doran 360RV and am very pleased with it. The TST that John Kohl has is a nice unit also.

Have Pressure Pro. It works. If I had run across other brands first, I might have considered them. I don't know about them. Basically, it is your decision. No, price wise, Pressure Pro is not the cadillac of the group. The expensive systems are internally mounted, not externally on the stem.

I just ordered the TST system. It's quite a bit cheaper than the others and measures temps as well as monitoring pressure. Another thing to cross off my "wish list".

All of you seem to be happy with the brand of tire pressure monitor you purchased. I will be ordering the TST, cause it will also monitor temp. Hopefully it will give me a better indication if Monty is loaded properly, not to much weight left, right or front, back. Thanks for all info.

We do have the pressure pro have had it for 3 years. Would go for the newer ones that also measure temp if I were to buy one now.. Great safety device.

Rich, I just purchased a Ryobi laser thermometer from Home Depot. If I remember correctly it was around $49.00. I get out at rest stops and check the tires quickly. Don't be alarmed. The temperatures may surprise you.

Just purchased a Pressure Pro. According to the manual you can see tire temperature when in Diagnostic Display Mode.

Doran 360RV. Monitors all 10 wheels, knows when the RV is not coupled to the truck and monitors over and under pressure.

Some questions not to hijack the thread but to gain more information about this item. I do wish I had one and would like to understand any nuances.

1. What do the TST owner's set as the temperature to monitor? Or, in other words, at what maximum value should the temperature be a concern? Or is it a matter that all the temps should be approximately the same and if one increases, then it's a concern.

2. Orv, you got me curious, what temps have you read with your temperature gun? A temp gun sounds like a good tool, but DW doesn't want to hang out the TV to read the RV wheel temps when we are driving...

3. Where and how did you mount the monitor itself (whatever it happens to be)? Is it something you can leave in the TV all the time? Do any of you have it removable?

4. I have heard there are two types of sensors depending on the system selected. One is mounted on the wheel inside the tire so it can't be stolen. And the one I prefer is mounted on the valve stem with some kind of antitheft mount. Are these battery powered? How long does the battery last?

Thanks in advance!
