The stock slide out cd/dvd holder behind the 27inch LCD TV in our 3400 is not useful for us, (we have a kajillion dvds), so I decided to make it into a space for our HP 3180 series printer, scanner.
I opened the opening out to 13 inches, and incresed the height to12 inches. I then put rails on the bottom of a piece of 1X12 pressboard
oak veneer. (The small piece in front is teporary, until I am able to make a useable piece to voer the slide) I then removed the original rails from the sides of the original slide cabinet and remounted on the piece of oak. I drilled a 1 3/8 hole between the cabinet and bottom of the desk, and ran the power cable and signal cable to the computer which sets on the floor, power to a surge prtector also mounted under the desk. It work great, and lets me use the printer with little effort and I can simply put it away when not being used. I am waiting for a matching door and the bropwn plastic trim from Keystone to finish it out.
