Has anyone made.....
A rack under the trailer for storage?
I am planning a rack from frame to frame, rigid on one side, one side drop-down, for 2 extra tires. (For truck, when I go off-roading in the Desert) I have 2 already out there.
I'm collecting ideas for the drop-down part. I'm thinking about square tube.
Ideas?
Thanks!
John Kohl knows how to draw those neat diagrams, and post them...smart guy I don't and am not...

Don, none.
The used Jeep is a good idea if I could afford it, but then I would be buying gas to drive it out there, insurance, and you know me, thousands of dollars getting it 'tuned' for off-roading.
It's hard to come up with the perfect solution when you are as poor as the church mouse.

Plug away my friend, you are a good promoter.
We need to get things done here to ready ourselves for....4 months, 14 days 18 hrs and 10 minutes, Our trip back out. I have to stay focused on moving the HVAC equipment in the shop that is all paid for. My truck is set up for service now, I am taking the 5th wheel hitch all apart to clean, sand and paint it as well as servicing it. There will be a slide show....
Trailer.. don't think so, a little welding and fab work and my tire rack will be done. Probably won't weigh more then 30# or so. It will be up against the bottom of the trailer, won't hang down much more, if any, than the tubes for the ladder and hose.

No problem Ozz! W-O-R-K!!!!!!! Only thing I remember of that is I'm just glad it all ended 6 years ago! Glad I'm not carrying those letters and etc and having to put up with the c-ap they are trying to get away with against the carriers and the Postal Workers in general. I frankly can't figure out when I really had any time to go to the PO to put in my time there! Just keeping busy here in Omaha and out at the farm about 45 miles from here and of course the trips in the Monte are just a short break for us from out busy life! LOL If you get a little time that weekend of the CPRR jump in the car and drive up here and we're still welcome you as if you were here with the Monte! Take care my friend and some day we will be meeting face to face!

Jim,
When we had the Monty, I put a drop down for my "portable boat."
I used aluminum flat stock. I had a friend fabricator help me. It was just over 2 feet wide and 12 feet long. We built back stops and a flat stock hinged piece for the front opening. We cut holes in the underbelly and bolted the flat stock to the frame. I used rollers between the drop down flat stock with All-thread and pvc wrapped in some heavy tape. I think I used that new modern plumbers tape that will not come of unless cut.
Anyhow - just some ideas. The only diagram I had was what we thought of at the time.
Good luck.
