Removed Gen box
Removed the metal box intended for onboard Gen. Plan to use the extra space for more storage. Would love to hear what you have done with your space. Like to see pictures if possible. Thanks in advance for all your great ideas. Larry

I have a 2006 Montana and it never had the gen prep and the rig came with an extra shelf in its place across most of the area. On the shelf I keep the tackle box and have hooks fastened to the ceiling where I stow the poles. Also on that shelf I keep the chocks and blocks for leveling the rig. Below that on the trailer floor, I have bin for the tire wrenches and tools, tool kits, jacks, drills, and that infernal pin tripod, etc. The other side of the storage area on the top shelf is the slide out motor. Below that is room for batteries (had 2 now I only have one).
Basically, the only idea I am providing is this is where I store things I might need pretty quick and need to get to when enroute or when I'm not set up at a site. Even when hitched up, I can swing the storage upwards and get to the things I need. This is unlike the basement, where I store things that are used after setting up the rig.

I bought some hangers (sort of like for a hose) and mounted them back to back, one in the basement the other in the front storage. The ones in the front storage provide storage for our Power Cords and Hoses. The ones on the other side in the basement hold the foldable step ladders, awning hook, swim noodles etc.

I had them shove an Onan 5.5 kW generator into that compartment. Unfortunately that did not leave a lot of room to store anything,

BBQ grill and tools go in there along with storage for extra water parts and my extra batteries.

I use it for storage, it really don’t seem to bother me if it takes up a little room. Maybe one day I’ll put a generator in it.

2003 Monty, I was thinkin same thing. Through in a plywood floor and store tools or lawn chairs. But I like the idea of putting in hangers for the power cord and hoses.
You guys sure get a guy thinking about the possibilities of how to use storage area.

It is the only place big enough for my satellite dish.
