MAGNETIC DOOR STOP

Our 3455SA has a standard swinging door for the entry into the bedroom. We had been using a rubber wedge door stop to hold it open when we were stopped and set up. But then I came across this magnetic door stop at Home Depot for about $5. It comes in a few different finishes including antique bronze, brass and silver. The post is attached to the floor and then there is a metal button that is attached to the back of the door. It works extremely well, was simple to install and would probably even be strong enough to hold the door open while traveling down the road, although I haven't tried that yet. I have attached a couple of pictures below.

I will have to make a trip to the Home Depot sometime this week. I had the foresight to install a "stick-on door knob" guard where it would contact against wall, but we have the same issue as you do-with the door not staying open so this will be a mod that the wife and I will appreciate.

Great idea! We where camping this weekend and set up in the rain. Needless to say not the most levelest we ever had the Monty in. For 3 days... we lived with it. But that blasted bedroom door was a real pain since we where not level. Eventally used a can of vegtables to hold it open. Was not pretty. Off to Home Depo tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

I have one of these in the stickhouse.

The only drawback is that it's real strong and I often have to slow down to be able to apply enough pressure to release it. The only other problem is the loud click when the magnets catch. I've often wondered if I could apply a thin rubberized material as a cover to minimize the metal on metal sound but still allow enough magnetism to catch.

I do think the magnet is strong enough that it will hold a door in place in a moving rig. I like that idea.

We use the exact same magnet to replace the outside door latch. Last year the crappy plastic door latch broke and DH took it all off, sealed the holes and drilled new ones to install the magnet. Works great!! In high winds we do use a small bungy to keep the door from slamming shut. I love opening the door and just pushhing it into the magnet. Stop by at the rally this week to see it!!
