Sewer vent rotating cap and A/C repair

My vent cover found it's new home this morning, and had to remove additions some wasps left for me this morning.

You mentioned you found the wasp's nest "under the cover of the unit". Did you mean the air conditioner unit's cover? Were there no wasps? I didn't think they'd like the hum of the A/C. My unit sits most of the time and last time I cleaned out the A/C on the roof about 6 months ago, I didn't see anything like that.

I guess I better get up there and check it out before our outing next week. I won't like knowing there might be some angry wasps or anything else, if we turn on the A/C and wander around the RV site. It's been a long time since we were last out (Thanksgiving) and the Monty's been sitting in the driveway since then! I've been keeping an eye on the underside (removing spiders, and other bugs) but the roof? I haven't been up there except to rinse off a couple of times but haven't checked under any covers. Thanks for the tip.

The problem with being retired is that you never get any days off!

The mud-dobbers like to build their mud dwellings on the fan hub, this causes an unbalanced fan, so if your A/C unit vibrates that is likely the cause. My front unit was really bad, couldn't run it, the back (L.R.) unit was a small vibration. I even had a Mud-dauber nest on the inside up in the fan, (inside the RV) this one was on the fan shroud.
The large fiber nest was up under the cover, as I removed it. If they were in it, I would have got stung bad, so be careful.
I think they were K.C. wasps.
Good tip is to spray around the cover before you remove it with wasp spray, if they are in it, they will come out, but probably not attack you.

Great advice. I had the vibrating fan when I turned the A/C on last year and found the mud daubers nest on the fan. It's an easy fix if you know what to look for.
