Friday 9-24-10 Tioga Pass

Seen you headed West into Yosemite. Started to ask if you needed help pulling the hill, but then I seen you had a Dodge and knew you would be fine.

I thought there was a vehicle limit on that road last time I went through there maybe 32' to 35' or somewheres in there. I think you are referring the Hwy 120 that goes through Tuolumne Meadows from Lee Vining (Hwy 395). That is a wicked climb.

With my 38 ft 5er on top of my 22 ft TV, I am about 52' long and I thought too long and won't even try that road because of it.

If there's some part of the road that is okay, I'd like to know about it.

We took Hwy 120 this summer with our Big Sky... NEVER AGAIN... We are 56'.. Got up ok with my knuckles white and my heart in my throat but the worst part was worring about coming down. It ruined our entire four days...I couldn't sleep the whole time. Bill did an awesome job driving but I have never been so scared in my life. Longest 1000 miles ever in those six miles.

Bill thought it was fun.

......how about your tongue in your cheek?

We boondocked near the entrance of Hwy 120 near Lee Vining, and drove our DODGE without the trailer into the park through Tuolumne Meadows.....that left us close to 395 without the California confusion and traffic on the west side.
