Eagle Nest, NM
We are in Eagle Nest, NM for the 4th of July celebration and have noticed numerous Montanas in the area. Every campground and rv park has at least one, some have several. Just wondering if any might be MOC members?

Lonnie, how long are you going to be staying at Eagle Nest? We are in Gunnison and may come back through New Mexico sometime this week.

David, we are leaving tomorrow (Monday) afternoon. My family reunion is in Mountainair, NM next weekend, then we will be back here in Eagle Nest the following weekend. You know how it is when you work for a living, the fun times are only a weekend long .

Mountainair ?? Were you born there? Great train watching spot. Be sure to check out "Fluffy" at the hardware store.

Thanks, Lonnie. We are still looking forward to meeting you. I think we will take our most direct route home throug Raton and Clayton, and start out in the morning (Monday).
There is a lot more of Texas between us and New Mexico than there is for you

bigmurf, I wasn't born there but my father was. I was born about 60 miles away in Claunch, NM. Is Fluffy one of the live rattlesnakes or one of the numerous stuffed animals? It's been many years since I have been in the hardware store.
David, if you come down I-25 to Springer and go across to Clayton, we may run into each other. If I see another Montana travelling the same direction we are, I'll give it an extra close look to see if it's you guys.

I remember seeing the big rattlesnake a few years back, just didn't remember it having such a cute name .
Your right about Claunch, nothing much there anymore. A church, post office, community building, and a cemetery where my parents, grandparents, an aunt and an uncle are buried.
