Laminate flooring...OPPS

I finished my flooring project yesterday when I put the slide in everything went fine, but when I pulled it backout I had a nice gouge in laminate right in line with table legs. one screw apparenty sticks down farther and in checking carpet could see line where it was sliding back and forth. I replaced two boards and did put a couple of nails to make sure laminate stays down. The table screws are 4" long. So I will grind the end off all of them.

Bob, sure am interested in how it looks and how you did the slides, did you put laminate in the slide area also, if so, how did you finish the side nearest the interior of the trailer.

I cheated by not doing the slides, the light carpet shows the dirt real easy. My wife loves it amd uses a swiffer to clean up and only takes a few moments. This is the second one I have done and much easier as the old one I had to undercut the carpet under slide. Send me your email and I will send you some pictures of in progress and finish. I haven't quite figured how to add pictures to my posts. Maybe thats good

Bob,
Before you run the slide back in check under the slide where they fasten the walls to the floor. Should be about 6-8 screws you need to check and make sure they are in straight. If they are angled at all that may be what scratched the floor. They got mine.

I roughed measured mine and got 8x17=138, so got six boxes and two roll of underlay. Used five boxes and one roll of underlay so my cost was $125. I got the cheap laminate a 99 a foot and about 25' a box at home Depot,it is called Tacoma Oak or a light oak color. Some of the flooring comes with underlay so you have to check prices. Took three hours to pull old floor and staples(lots) I took my time and took about a day and half. DW is very happy. Yes yes

Please send us pics also, my wife is hounding me to put down the laminate, hates the carpet. But we will leave it under table and sofa unless it's really not bad to change it. Thank you.

We replaced all our vinyl with the laminate, left the carpet as is since it is still in good shape. Did kitchen, bathroom and shower area on our 2955. Bought ours at Sam's and it had the backing on it. Total cost around $125.00. It looks great. Big improvement.

It would be nice if you could post them here so we all could see them. I enjoy watching what others do to modify their rig.
