Install washer/dryer combo in the Monty

My wife has been bugging me for 2 years about installing a washer/dryer combo in our 2004 2955RL. Problem is I have searched the thing over and can't find a prep anywhere. I thought someone may have installed a unit and may have ideas or pics of the job. I'm not even sure yet where the thing will fit. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Medic519, I installed one, I will post some information for you. Our unit is a 3400RL, so there may be some differences.
Dryer and Washer install modify it a little:
I moved both the 220 outlet and the 120 volt outlet high to provide access. The Maytag's are wide and cut down on clearance.
I unhooked the unused 20 amp circuit for the dryer to use elsewhere, (Basement, or another outlet to the living room for a heater circuit.)
Use a Sears back aluminum flat vent extender to bring the vent out on top, trust me on this, it's best. (Clearance and access issues)
Don't give a care about codes, so I didn't check that. (I know it's safe and has worked for over 200 loads....) Use the 220 dryer leads that come with it, get the mating receptacle.
Didn't have to do any door or frame mod's, but I would cut the back wall a little to give more room for the hoses, and use heavy duty reinforced hoses, not the ones that come with it.
I like the expensive dryer vent from C.W., looks nicer, (Just like the expensive class "A"'s.…)
Hope that helped.

Medic,

Unfortunatey, Kestone did not start providing for a washer/dryer in the 2955 until sometime in 2005. Prior to that only a few floorplans had provisions.

In 2005, they designed provisions for a combo w/d in the foward bedroom on all models that did not previously have the w/d closet in the entry. They made the closet narrower, moved the TV into the forward cabinet on a swivel, and put the w/d below the TV. This design made a w/d option available in all Montana models rather than just a few.

Sorry to tell you this but it is doable:

I was talking to my dealer this week about W/D and he mentioned that he installed one into a 2980RL (same bedroom as your unit) and said it was a real big and hard job. At that time I did not ask more as I had put a W/D in our big sky.

You may want to contact Omar at D&K RV in Wenatchee, Washington and bend his ear some. Tell him Dick Driver with the Big Sky told you to call him. 509.662.1668.
