2nd Battery

I have a marine type battery disconnect switch with A/B positions for the switch. My current battery (positive wire) runs through the "A" position on the switch. I am installing a 2nd battery and want to utilize the "B" position on the switch. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for this?

Thanks,

Why not just connect the batteries in parallel (pos to pos and neg to neg) assuming they are both 12 volt batteries of the same type?

Bill, I found this site on the web.
Shows how to hook the batteries up to the switch.
But I don't think I'd mount it to my dashboard like this guy did .

With this set up you can still use the marine off/on/both switch.

Simple to hook up the switch's B position to the second battery's + terminal. When the switch is in the BOTH position the batteries are paralleled giving you the current flow you desire. Perko makes the switch you are considering, remember to use a wire with decent size and to SOLDER the terminals on your cable as crimping only invites heat and corrosion.

Thanks for your help. I intend to route each battery through a separate position on the switch to allow me to choose either or both batteries.
