How are holding tanks mounted?
Anyone removed the coroplast on a 2019 and up underbelly and taken photos of the holding tanks mounted in the frame? I would like to see how they are currently supported on a 2019 Montana High Country.

If you watch the Keystone Montana factory tour on YouTube posted by “Home with the Hoopers” (screen shot below) you will see that the tanks are sort of shaped like a “T” and are installed into the frame from the top while the frame is upright. The T edge rests on part of the frame…the the remainder of the trailer is built on top of it. That’s what I garnered from watching the video…which makes me wonder how a tank can be removed from underneath the trailer if needed. Somebody here will have a better answer!

All the ones I've seen hang from their flange on the top of the tank. Note that there are different designs of tanks but they still hang from that flange.

And I believe that the Tank MFRs recommend straps across the bottom of the tanks to help support the weight when filled.

That's what I'm curious about? Are the tanks secure for hauling partially full or full? Are the straps installed?

We boondock in the Rockies, on very rough roads. We go in with full water tank and leave with full black/gray tanks. We have been doing this since 2004 with four different Montana’s. There are always issues possible, but many people do this. The newer tanks are rotomolded and are more robust. Best of luck.

I think I am still going to pop some fasteners out of the coroplast this weekend and take a peek at how mine are mounted. I may post some pics if I can access them for a good look.

At least on one side of each tank, the rail is removable so the tank can be removed from under the rig. The older tanks are molded from ABS plastic and the flat top is glued to the flange of the molded part. The newer tanks are supposed to be much stronger.
